25.01.2022 WOW! Just wow! I am absolutely blow away by everyone’s interest and support in my little hobby this year. It has been a tricky year, this 2020, there have been so many challenges, highs and lows, home schooling (I won’t even go there I’m still so traumatised ), social distancing, job losses, business closures, illness and death. BUT so many positives too! A reconnection with community, creativity, bread baking, vege gardening, home schooling (a positive for my ki...ds at least), generosity and above all kindness While it has been a little more challenging than usual, there’s no coconut wax available Australia wide because everyone is making candles, no lip balm containers to be seen, no kraft paper bags to be bought and wrapping and ribbons disappear off the shelf in the blink of an eye, with no clear date of when or if they’ll be back in stock. Despite these hiccups I’ve managed to make do, change tack, adapt and grow. And I am ever so grateful I can still do something I love! I love making the candles, filling the house with beautiful scents (a nice change since I live with four men, big and little in the house). I really enjoyed making some new soaps this year and would have done more if life with a toddler wasn’t quite as busy . But my favourite part is the fussy bits, sitting quietly at night when everyone is in bed, cutting, sticking, packing bags, adding gift tags and tying ribbons This is the 3rd year I’ve been making my gift bags, candles, soaps and honey goodies. Each year I set myself a little goal to reach and this year I have absolutely smashed it and that is thanks to you! So thank you, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful for your support and love being able to spread just a little bit of joy x Unfortunately due to the huge interest I’ve have I do have close orders for gift bags, soaps, candles and lip balms as due to family/work commitments and a lack of supplies I am unable to make more at the moment I do have a couple of mini jars left, a few jumbo and plenty of regular jars which can be plain or with comb so if you need a honey fix let me know Merry Christmas to all my amazing customers, old and new, safe and happy travels and here’s to the new year! We were given this cute little set of Australian honey the other day and it reminded me to check our collection Some are birthday gifts, returning from travels gifts, just because gifts, I saw it on the side of the road gifts There are a few that we’ve bought along the way (mostly jams and chutneys) but most were gifts from family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues They’ve come from far and wide.....Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Serbia, Tasmania and various spots around Oz! It’s quite a collection and always interesting to try new ones x

08.01.2022 STOP! Do you have a jar of honey like this? It’s not gone bad or off or funny. Your honey is perfectly fine, in fact it’s actually a good sign that it’s raw unprocessed honey. Store bought honey will never do it. It’s called crystallisation and happens, often in winter, when the honey gets dehydrated or from nectar with low water content. Sometimes we get a jar or two that crystallise slowly over winter (this is rare because it’s not usually in the jar long enough ) but thi...s year we’ve had a batch that crystallised super quick. I actually love it on toast but if it’s not for you don’t fret, you can still have your honey and eat it too! To remedy....Place your jar/tub with the lid on and sealed in a jug or saucepan and cover with hot water (I used boiling water from the jug and a bowl that wasn’t big enough for the photos ) I was a bit impatient and there were still some crystals in the jar and it formed up again the next day. When it’s liquid again give it a shake and leave it sit for a couple extra minutes. Alternatively you can pop the jar/tub in the microwave, heat in 30sec intervals until liquid again. The microwave does however damage the natural properties of raw honey EDIT....if you microwave, remove the lid first! Either way please take extreme care not to burn yourself as the jar/tub will be extremely hot. Wait for the container to cool down or use a mit to protect your hand x

02.01.2022 Those who’ve been around awhile will know I usually do a gift wrapped set of two jars, one plain and one with comb. This year it’s an extra special treat! We saved half a drum (which in hindsight was not enough ) of beautiful pale honey from a harvest earlier in the year for our Christmas pairings. So, I have a VERY limited number of these gift wrapped sets with one light and dark macadamia honey. First in best dressed Last pic is of the two jars unwrapped no filter as it’s a bit hard to see the contrast when they’re wrapped and with labels!
