Another update on the southern rain ev...ent will be made this afternoon - this is a two week outlook** As discussed for many weeks and months, showing various data sets and modelling, we are now on the cusp of some of the data playing out in reality. We have one modest rainfall event crossing over southern Australia over the coming few days, that will trigger some nice rainfall totals, but not a huge washout. The storm potential is fairly decent over the coming days, so some locally heavy falls are possible with any storms that form. Could be quite stormy over central and northern NSW on Sunday. Next week, we could see a large storm outbreak develop over central and eastern areas of the nation. We are about a week out, so will need to see what that system looks like by Monday. This system will bring the best chance of rain for QLD so far this spring on current prognostics, but again more refining is required, especially once we get this initial system off the board and see how the atmosphere is by Monday. Signals for another system at the end of the month with widespread rainfall is also gaining confidence across all global modelling. Something to think about for all those heading into harvest. November is looking wet too, with multiple rain events likely and the storm season usually ramping up over NSW and QLD from this period. Image - Rainfall for the next 16 days GFS has been very consistent in its rainfall analysis for the past 3 days, particularly on the ensemble data, which has between 2-4 inches of rainfall for great swathe of the east. This is deterministic data and shows one of many solutions if all the ingredients come together - that would mean some areas seeing quite a deluge. Too early to know exactly who gets what. But clearly the higher rainfall chances are the further east you go.

08.01.2022 QLD BORDER OPEN TO ALL OF NSW The QLD State Government has finally eased NSW border restrictions. From 1 December 2020, all of NSW including Greater Sydney will... no longer be required to quarantine for 14 days when entering QLD. This was always unnecessary, the border closure was never recommended by the Chief Medical Officer. Good to see sanity finally prevail. Residents will still need to apply for a border pass.
