If left unchanged for too long it can result in costly repairs or even an engine replacement. Check your owner’s manual or call our service advisors for more information.

25.01.2022 **Fun Sunday Fact!** Did you know that there are different meanings behind car makers' emblems? For example, TOYOTA: The inner ovals symbolise the heart of the customer and the heart of the company, overlapping to represent a mutually beneficial relationship and trust between the two, as well as forming a ‘T’ shape for Toyota. The outer oval one signifies the world embracing Toyota. The space in the background within the logo is meant to exhibit the ‘infinite values’ which Toyota stands for. These are: superb quality, value beyond expectation, the joy of driving, innovation, and integrity in safety, the environment and social responsibility.

22.01.2022 How Potholes Can Damage Your Car? If you hit a pothole, dont ignore it, the bump can cause damage that may only get worse. Tyres - The impact could cause your tyre to lose air, and the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System light will immediately go on. But even if the tyre is holding air, look for any bulges sticking out of the side. They could be a sign of internal damage, and youre probably going to need to replace the tyre. ... Wheels - The hard angles of a pothole can also cause serious damage to your wheels. Check for bends or cracks in the side of the wheel, where the rim meets the tyre. If there is visible damage, the wheel will most likely need to be replaced. Suspension & Steering - If you notice your car pulling to the right or the left, the pothole might have bent one or more suspension or steering components out of alignment. To avoid handling problems and uneven tyre wear get your alignment checked.

19.01.2022 Why is maintaining proper tire pressure important? Proper tire inflation helps prevent accelerated wear that leads to premature tire replacement and is also important to safety. Tires that are driven under-inflated generate excessively high heat levels that can weaken the tire to the point of failure.... At high speed, a rapidly deflating tire can cause loss of vehicle control. An over-inflated tire will result in harsh ride quality and will cause uneven tire wear.

14.01.2022 Safety Tips For Driving In The Rain Hazards and risks are elevated whenever it starts to rain, or even if roads are still wet from a recent downpour. Here are a few safety tips for driving in the rain. 1. Drive A Clean Car In Good Condition - For better visibility in wet weather, once a month, clean the windshields and windows inside and out and inspect your windshield wiper blades for wear. Check the level of your washer fluid weekly. 2. Switch On Lights - Though many new...er cars come with automatic running lights, turn on the actual headlights when using windshield wipers so your taillights come on as well. 3. Slow Down!- Leave at least five seconds of following distance between your car and the one in front. And never use cruise control on wet roads. If you hydroplane under cruise control, the automatic acceleration can cause you to lose control of your vehicle when your tires regain traction. 4. Dont Get In Too Deep - You can lose control with as little as three inches of water on the road. And even if you manage to stay in control, a larger vehicle could push some of that water underneath your car, causing your engine to stall. 5. Steer Where You Want To Go -If youre going too fast and end up hydroplaning, turn the wheel in the direction you want to go. It may take three to five adjustments to get back on course (and a little while longer for your heart to stop pounding). See more

13.01.2022 Brisbane City Hall and King George Square turned yellow to support National Road Safety Week. Toady is a reminder to ‘move over, slow down’. 11.01.2022 It looks like a horseshoe with an exclamation mark in it. What does it mean and what should you do when it lights up or flashes? The tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) keeps track of the air pressure inside your tyres. It can help you avoid excessive tyre wear, save fuel and prevent an accident. Your TPMS has various illumination patterns that mean different things: 1. If the light illuminates and stays on, at least one of your tyres is at a low-pressure level. Check your... tyres pressure as soon as possible. Once you identify which tyre is flatter try and work out the reason for the pressure loss. It might just have been a gradual air loss. However, if it goes flat again take it to a tyre shop for further investigation. 2. If the light goes on and off again, its likely due to changing tyre temperatures. The pressure might be low when you start the car, causing the light to go on, but get to the correct level as it heats up with friction. Treat this as an early warning sign and try to check your tyre pressures before they get too warm. 3. If the light flashes for about a minute when you start your car and remains on, this means the TPMS sensor has a fault. Youll need to get this checked by a qualified mechanic. See more

11.01.2022 September Green Car Tips #2 Maintain Cooling System A cooling system thermostat that causes the engine to run too cold will lower the fuel efficiency of a car by as much as one or two mpg. There also are improved radiator caps on the market today that allow the cooling system to operate at a higher temperature before boiling over, increasing the systems efficiency, and reducing emissions.

10.01.2022 If your car won’t start, or if the engine misfires, chances are your ignition coil is malfunctioning. If it’s not working properly, it won’t be able to create the spark to ignite the air and fuel mixture. Replacing the ignition coil is an inexpensive repair compared to the damage that can be done. A bad ignition coil can severely damage the catalytic converter or even your entire engine. Without a spark, your car won’t start or might stall, leaving you stranded.

10.01.2022 September Green Car Tips #3 Gas Caps Check your vehicles gas cap. A loose, cracked or damaged gas cap allows gas to escape from your tank as a vapour, wasting fuel and increasing vehicle emissions. Its also wasting your gas money!

08.01.2022 Why is my check engine light on? If your check engine light is on you should take your car to a mechanic since many of the issues reported by it can be seriously damaging to your engine. If the light is solid, this can indicate a less serious issue. If it lights up and blinks, its something more serious that requires immediate attention. The light colour might be another indicator. Yellow can mean important but not serious while red indicates a more pressing issue that requ...ires attention. Regardless of whether its blinking, solid, yellow, or red, you still need to have your vehicle checked. A few other things to consider: If the car is overheating, the oil pressure is low, or the engine is behaving strangely, pull over as soon as its safe and turn the engine off. Check to make sure your gas cap isnt loose as this can trigger the sensor. While the light may not reset immediately, it is a quick and easy check. If you are towing a trailer or a heavy load and the light comes on, you may be overloading the engine.

Strange smells emanating from the front of the car, particularly near the hood. Leaking coolant can often have a sweet smell, while oil leaks will typically produce a burnt odor.

07.01.2022 The main reason for early failure of the DPF filter is due to the car only getting short runs and never getting the exhaust temperature high enough to fully regenerate the filter.
