25.01.2022 Our highly respected old scholar, Claire Lehmann (nee Jensen), is an Australian writer and entrepreneur. She founded the internationally successful online magazine Quillette in 2015 and remains Quillette’s Editor-in-Chief in 2021. Her writing has been published in Australian publications such as The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian, and in international publications such as Commentary and Tablet. In 2020, the Australian Libertarian Society named her Australia’s Liber...tarian of the Year, and in 2018 The Sydney Morning Herald named her as one of Ten Aussies who shook the world in tech and media in 2018. She holds a BPsych (Hons) from The University of Adelaide and serves on the advisory council of the Free Speech Union. Claire was kind enough to send us a copy of Quillette’s latest book: Panics and Persecutions. Claire was the lead editor for this book and we are thrilled to have a copy for our school library. Thanks, Claire, and be sure to pop in and see us the next time that you are in Adelaide!

19.01.2022 Today mass was celebrated in St Francis Xavier Cathedral with representatives of many SA Catholic schools to celebrate 200 years of Catholic education in Australia. It was a good opportunity for a photo with the statue of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, who achieved so much for Catholic education in SA.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to our band and to Tuan and Gordon for their speeches this morning.

18.01.2022 We are saddened by the news of the passing of Sr Margaret Lamb on Friday evening. Sr Margaret was a teacher at Mount Carmel College, a Board member and volunteer tutor. Sr Margaret spent some time as Principal of another SA Josephite school, Mary MacKillop College, Kensington. Sr Margaret attended our school functions right up until recently when her health deteriorated. May she now rest peacefully in God's loving care.

16.01.2022 Today's Remembrance Day ceremony was very special. We were fortunate to have 16 RAAF officers attend, including a Catafalque Party. Madison Wells gave a very moving account of her great grandfather's experiences in World War I and II. A very special day commemorating those who defended our freedoms and way of life. Lest we forget.

07.01.2022 Earlier this month, some of our students managed to sneak a performance, taking to the Adelaide Farmers Market at the Adelaide showgrounds for a bit of busking. With the recent cancellation of or school concert, we couldn’t think of a better way to start your Monday then sharing some tunes post lockdown. 05.01.2022 Today's Whole School Assembly was an excellent celebration of ... excellence! The highest academic achievers at each year level from Term 1 were acknowledged, along with sporting achievements - both individuals and as a school we won the Western Zone Sports Shield, community service contributions, the leaders who went to Penola gave a snapshot of their trip, we were entertained by music performance from the band and we were told about the exciting College Musical 'Footloose' which will be performed in the last week of Term 2 and tickets will go on sale in week 3. It was a great showcase of the many wonderful students at the College.
