25.01.2022 Ready for final testing of new software on Yamaha MT-09 Tracer/FJ-09. Think I will join a Ulysses Club ride in Lillydale and see how it goes. Be nice to meet some new people and have a coffee. I have a camera too at right - getting a bit cluttered, but really useful seeing whether what I change makes it better - or worse! We have recently solved the problem of the MT-09 Tracer cruise 'niggling' a bit. Smooth as silk now, but I want to be sure there is no downside to the change - hence the 'testing'. It's a tough life!
24.01.2022 I am not sure whether the term 'social distancing' is in common use around the world, but it has become the buzz word here in Oz lately - and means to keep everyone else at a distance of over 1 metre (yard) in all directions! Tomorrow I am going to enjoy MY version of social distancing riding in the bush with a buddy of mine - me on my MT-09 Tracer with off road tyres and him on his KTM 690. We are not into 'hooning' around, it's just great to be in the bush with no police, the odd echidna and wallaby and no crowds. What could be better? I had a ball on my CRF250L in the Otway Ranges near Lorne a couple of weekends ago - and again in Eden last week. If this is what 'social distancing' is .... let there be MORE of it! :) Stay safe everyone.

21.01.2022 Honda ST1300 - MCCruise revisited: Over the last couple of days we have revised the MCCruise for the ST1300 with our new electric servo mounted in the front fairing and tapping into the bike's speed signal. Our new MCS8000 hardware and brilliant new software make cruise performance extraordinary. The installation only requires the two right hand side fairing and side cover to be removed instead of both sides, reducing labour costs, but the dummy fuel tank and airbox still must be removed to mount the cable interface unit. It takes time, but is fairly straightforward and the location of the servo now means you can adjust the cable freeplay much more easily and make it perfect with the engine idling. 21.01.2022 After a Ulysses Club ride to Euroa - the long way round - I had time coming back on the Hume Highway to test and modify the MT-09 Tracer MCCruise software a bit. The results were impressive. On relatively flat sections of the freeway the statistics indicated that the actual speed was within 0.65 kph (0.4 mph) of the SET speed 98% of the time!. On hillier sections around Wallan, the actual speed was within 0.74 kph (0.46 mph) 98% of the time and within 0.54 kph (0.33 mph) 95% of the time. The snatchy throttle on the MT-09 Tracer (FJ-09 & FZ-09) makes them hard to control smoothly, but a new software innovation in MCCruise has that problem licked - in STANDARD mode on the bike , which is quite impressive!.
18.01.2022 Our new MCCruise autonomous, CANBUS-controlled QuadCruise has now been fitted to a Honda Pioneer 500 very successfully, in California. Preliminary trials are very encouraging. With some tweaking to the software in response to customer requirements and using our new phone app and Bluetooth interface to upload it remotely we expect this product will facilitate rapid implementation of precision speed control in autonomous vehicles world-wide over the coming years. Our twenty-years of R&D into precision, slow-speed cruise control on high-powered, light weight vehicles positions MCCruise to meet the expanding needs of this growing market.
16.01.2022 A busy month coming up.....we have an MT-07 in for development right now. A new Suzuki Burgman (at last) wanting to come in. A Honda CB1000F from Woodend coning for development and some new Kubota models to work on. Sales are booming so trying to find enough time is the problem!

15.01.2022 MCCruise has long been supplying QuadCruise to the Ag Research industry worldwide, but it is always gratifying to get the kind of feedback we see here in recent correspondence with Chad: 'Tony, I got your voicemail and we’ll be more than happy to help you out in any way we can (with feedback/photos for the 2019 CAICC Annual conference). We’ll look through our pictures and videos and see if we can’t come up with a few examples of how we use your cruise control. I haven’t gen...erated any more data on the reliability or accuracy of the cruise control since we installed the first one. To be honest, it works so well, we almost forget about it. One of our bikes is set up with a 0.025 mph increment/button push and the other bike is set up with a 0.1 mph increment/button push. For GLP plot spraying, I prefer the finer resolution that the 0.025 mph provides. For maintenance spraying, the 0.1 mph increment is adequate. We’ve had a couple of on/off spray switch failures and we had one tactile button failure. Otherwise, they’ve worked flawlessly for the past 12 years! The only thing I’d like to see added is a user adjustable increment/button push. I think the 0.025 mph increment is the sweet spot for plot spraying, but I’d sure like to try some others, both smaller and larger, to see if one works even better.
