20.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW You don’t have to be a firefighter to join the Rural Fire Service (RFS). There are many other volunteer roles that are just as important such... as: Community education Admin Incident management Communications Whether you’re on the front line, in the back line or anywhere in between, every role at the RFS is vital to protecting Queensland communities: https://www.qfes.qld.gov.au//rural-fire-service-volunteer.
19.01.2022 This International Firefighters’ Day we’ve reached out to some of our mates around the world to find out what being a firefighter means to them. We also want to say thank you to all our staff and volunteers, past and present, as well as our international and national counterparts
18.01.2022 Heads up Wondai. SMOKE ALERT McEuen RFB will be assisting a landholder with a burn from about 2pm today 24/4/21 in Lysdale Rd. Smoke may affect the area, drive with caution and if smoke is affecting you, close windows and doors and keep your respiratory medications close by.
16.01.2022 Did you see them as they came through Wondai this morning along the rail trail?
13.01.2022 So it appears some time between around 2pm yesterday and 12.30pm today someone has decided they liked one of our smoke hazard signs more than we do. This was ...placed on Booie Road whilst we were conducting hazard reduction burning yesterday afternoon to alert motorists to the possibility of smoke reducing visibility on the road. It was found to missing upon going to collect it today. If anyone was in the area and saw someone taking it or has seen someone with it please let us know. It is the same as the one in this picture. While it is a small and relatively inexpensive item that can be replaced it is just another unnecessary job for one of our volunteers chasing it up and putting the sign together. Furthermore if people were to ask we are quite happy to LEND these signs out to landowners if they need them for their own burns, there is no need to steal them See more
11.01.2022 This morning at the Wondai dawn service many of our members marched to honour the sacrifices of those that have gone before us. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them. LEST WE FORGET
