31.01.2022 I have learned so much from Sue-Anne Hunter another resilient strong woman of substance and values from the first day I heard her speak so powerfully, authentically and passionately about the history of her ancestors at the March for Justice rally last year. An honour to have the opportunity to get to know you Sue-Anne and understand the history of Australia. I made a conscious effort and intension to learn more about Aboriginal land, people, culture, song, flag and acknowle...dgment of country in 2021. So much to learn. This week I celebrated 10 years living and calling beautiful Naarm, Melbourne, traditions land of Kulin Nation, The Kulin Nation is a collective of five Aboriginal nations: I stand on Wurundjeri, the other four are, Boonwurrung, Wathaurrung, Daungwurrung and Dja DjaWrung. Australia is my home from home. I am fortunate and grateful for the white privilege I have had to choose to leave my country Ireland by choice, buy a plane ticket, apply for a visa and choose where I wanted to live, have unlimited employment options, wear, eat, drink, what I liked and travel freely around Australia on my terms. The list of freedoms and privealge is endless for some, not all and certainly not equally. I am grateful to live here, thankful for all I have, honoured to have met amazing people. I would like acknowledge elders past, present and emerging. Always was always will be Aboriginal lands. Never ceded. Reaching the top of any field is difficult, time-consuming, and often tedious. The reason it isn’t crowded at the top is that most people won’t do the things that are necessary to achieve success.
