23.01.2022 The "Sea Flower" concept is a unique offshore mooring formation that doubles as sea art and functional homes for Daishan Island’s fishing community. Mitigating the scent of fishing boats, the Sea Flower will declutter the coastline and provide a harbourside aesthetic unique to tourists and residents of Daishan Island. McGregor Coxall and UPDIS were awarded the winning proposal for the International Competition for Urban Design for Daishan Island: the Penglai Wonderland tha...t serves as an important cornerstone for tourism and fishing economies in the Zhoushan Archipelago. Coastal planning, an optimised urban design and a vibrant public realm underpin the design approach that seeks to regenerate the island whilst maintaining the rich local cultural characteristics. #LandscapeArchitecture #UrbanDesign #Environment #Biodiversity #Biourbanism #Sydney #Melbourne #Brisbane #Shenzhen #Bristol
