25.01.2022 We had a brilliant few days at camp last week! Lighthouse hosted the Year 8 Transitions & Leadership Camp at Dookie Agricultural College. Students from all 4 S...tate Secondary Schools came together for 3 days to build skills, connect to regional career pathways and build relationships before moving out to the Mooroopna Year 9 Campus next year. With a variety of activities from sheep drafting to meditation, fitness, to yabby races, the camp connected students to the local world of work whilst building skills and resilience. Thank-you to the individuals and businesses who came out to Dookie to run fantastic activities. The camp was an absolute blast! 25.01.2022 IWIA had the absolute pleasure today to share in Italian Cooking and Conversations at McGuire College with the Year 9 Italian class. Lina, our head chef today, ...took us through her gnocchi recipe with great aplomb! Great fun was had by all and the Apprentices were amazingly efficient with the cooking utensils!! Such a cooperative and courteous group of students!! A special thank you to Ms Lynda Bruce for her dedication to, and support of IWIA. To Ant for his culinary prowess in the dishing up division and to Ms Mary Calandro for supporting the program with her Year 9 Apprentices. And finally, our sincere thanks to our Italian Silver Warriors who very generously gave their time and good cheer to join in most enthusiastically! Grazie molto Lina, Mario, Agata, Pina e Mimma. 21.01.2022 I have just been advised that due to the extreme heat predicted for tomorrow (Code Red day) the Department Of Education have canceled all school buses in our region. We understand that some students will not be able to attend as a result, however all classes will run as normal for students that can. Our final year 12 valedictory assembly will go ahead as normal in the morning. My apologies for the late notice, John Sciacca McGuire College Principal.

10.01.2022 Pupil Free Day - Wednesday 13th November. There is a pupil free day on Wednesday 13th November due to staff taking part in a Curriculum Writing day.

09.01.2022 There is a Curriculum Day next Wednesday 4th December where students are not required to come to school. The day will be used to finalise curriculum and preparations for the 2020 school year.
