25.01.2022 Remember when Campbell Newman tried to claim that privatisation would fund new public infrastructure? Well now that's what Qld Labor are claiming. The Qld Labor Government have sold off 1041 public homes to the private market since 2017 while the waitlist fo social housing has grown to 47,000 people. If you want to get a sense of whose side they are on - last year Labor gave mining corporations a tax cut - then privatised public housing and kicked people out of their homes.... It's pretty bloody simple tax: mining billionaires, don't evict people in public housing. Then build enough public homes to ensure everyone is able to live a good life.

20.01.2022 Good stuff - then we need to make them pay tax to fund dental into medicare, totally free public schools and Jobseeker above the poverty line.

19.01.2022 The horrific violence in Jerusalem and Gaza is a timely reminder of the ongoing military occupation by the Israeli military of Palestine and shocking violence committed against Palestinians. Israeli military air strikes have now killed 28 Palestinian, including 10 children. It's hard to fathom how awful it must be to live under a military occupation that everyday takes more land through illegal settlements, murders and arbitrarily arrests people and takes even people's most basic dignities. Palestinians are living under an apartheid regime and there will be no justice until they are freed.

13.01.2022 It was great to be at the joint rally against unsustainable development at Kangaroo Point today with @amymacsouthbne The rally brought together community groups from across the city fighting bad developments. The planning rules have been written by Labor and the LNP to guarantee the profits of developers and banks at the expense of everyday people.... We don’t need more luxury apartments we need public housing, more public transport and public parkland.

12.01.2022 We had an absolute brilliant weekend of doorknocking. My favourite conversation was with a nurse who talked at length about how transformational bringing dental into Medicare would be. She works in an ICU ward and regularly sees patients with heart issues and infections that are the result of patients not having enough money to get a check up a year earlier. There are 3.2 million kids around Australia who have access to Medicare funded dental because the Greens won the balance of power in 2010. If we win Griffith we could get dental into Medicare for everyone and change millions more lives for the better.
