05.01.2022 Less than one pound of frozen genetic material has traveled approximately 8,000 miles (12,800km). DNA was collected from a bull in #Australia, analyzed, frozen ...and then shipped to the US. The tank arrives in the US, after months(seemed like years) of quarantine, then the straws are able to be shipped throughout the states. Some units are being prepped for shipping, at the storage facility, then will be in route to us here in #Colorado. It is quite an amazing #journey for such small items. This is by far the longest voyage any of our livestock/genetics has been on. We are eagerly looking forward to using these red straws on our black cows. #RedBull + #BlackCow = #RedCalf? 01.01.2022 The big 3 year dry continues for our farm at McIntosh Creek in Australia. Our 8 dams, some are 15 metres deep, have very little water & pasture does not exist. We are hand feeding 40 cattle but staying positive the rains will come visit soon.
