17.01.2022 Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 15 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral - Severe N...ortheast Pastoral - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Flinders - Extreme Mid North - Extreme Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Riverland - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au

14.01.2022 This year to date we have attended around 70 call outs and around 20% have been bush fire related. The other 80% are: Fire alarms Car accidents... Structure fires Car fires (including a boat fire) Flooding Tree downs Assist SA Ambulance Service with lifts and medical assist (CPR) Oil and hydraulic spills Injured animals And the list goes on Our members aren’t just skilled in bush fires, but a wide range of skills. We are always learning new techniques to better our Brigade and be able to help when that 000 call comes through.

09.01.2022 Yesterday a few of our members attended Driving Vehicles Under Operational Conditions course, where they were put to the test in driving various CFS appliances off road and in different situations. This is vital when driving to a job and on scene to keep our crews safe. We take these trucks to the limit and having the skills to do so is the best way to protect the community! Ps. Thank you Kangarilla Country Fire Service for letting us borrow your truck. We brought it back i...n one piece lol. Thanks Geoff and Jeremy for taking time out of your week
