22.01.2022 Are you bushfire ready? This is dashcam footage from our appliance taken last weekend when we responded to a fire in a vineyard only 1.5km from town. Luckily crews got this one under control quickly but the outcome might be different on the next extreme fire danger day.... 18.01.2022 SA Country Fire Service has issued a Total Fire Ban for the Mount Lofty Ranges on Wednesday, April 15. CFS State Duty Commander Brett Loughlin said it is a hig...hly dynamic time in South Australia with the COVID-19 pandemic, however the public should be reassured CFS crews are ready to respond to any emergency. People living in the Mount Lofty Ranges need to review their Bushfire Survival Plans with current directions in mind. We have been in talks today with SA Police and SA Health about how people should respond if a bushfire starts near them, Mr Loughlin said. If you have been directed to self-isolate and there is a bushfire emergency near you, you are allowed to leave your property to travel to your closest Bushfire Safer Place available on the website. ONLY LEAVE IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. You must not congregate with others at that Bushfire Safer Place. IF IT IS NOT SAFE TO LEAVE solid buildings provide protection from bushfire. If people are found to leave their property without a valid reason, they will be investigated by police. For more information about bushfires, call the Bushfire Information Line on 1800 362 361. For information about COVID-19 and bushfires, call the COVID-19 Information line on 1800 253 787.

COVID-19 ADVICE If you are quarantining or isolating in an area of fire risk, you can leave that location if you are in an emergency or if your home is unsafe - but try to get back as soon as you safely can. If you need to attend a relief centre or a Bushfire Last Resort Refuge, you need to stay outside, alert emergency services at the location and follow their instructions. Advise emergency services that you have left quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19. Please ensure your emergency kits are updated to include masks, sanitiser, and any other items you may need to keep yourself safe and prevent any potential spread of COVID-19.
