24.01.2022 Following the recent worrying increase in Covid-19 cases in the Victorian community, we are proactively trialling the introduction of temperature checking guests entering Mclean Beach Holiday Park from today. This measure will be similar to procedures in many Victorian caravan parks so that we too can help keep our guests and the park as safe as possible. If you are visiting us over the next few days please help us in this endeavour by planning your entry by contacting the... office between 8.30am-5pm, if this is not possible you will have to make alternative arrangements with us prior to your arrival. 03 5881 2448. Please be assured that while any local Victorian suburb lockdown is in place residents from those locations will not be able to stay at the park. However the most effective measure will continue to be in our own hands, so is if anyone in your family or travelling group has symptoms please stay home, get tested, let us know and we will change the booking with no cost penalties. Working together we can help keep Mclean Beach Holiday Park safe and open. In the spirit of this collaboration we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the great support and cooperation we have already been shown by our guests and the Mclean Beach community. We are asking that this please continues as we develop procedures to protect us all. Stay safe, stay happy, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the park very soon.

22.01.2022 We await further details on how this border closure affects our park. At this stage it will mean that no Victorian will be allowed to cross the border to our park, and we cannot book in any Victorians into the park once this closure is in place. We will post details on any exemptions that may apply to this and further details as soon as we are advised. If you need to check any details with us please email us rather than phone do that we can try to get back to you as soon as possible https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-/border-closure-to-protect-nsw

16.01.2022 FRESH AIR ADVENTURES Looking to fill in a few hours in the heart of Deniliquin? Have kids to entertain? Love a little nature time? Feeling adventurous...? Craving some fresh air? Drum roll please Hello, Island Sanctuary! This CBD highlight features a number of unique native flora and fauna which is sure to intrigue anyone who enters the gates. You’ll keep the kids (and the adults) entertained with walking, bike riding, fishing, birdwatching, animal spotting, picnicking and exploring. You can easily spend a few hours here that’s for sure! Wildlife and nature, however, is not the only attraction of the area. The sanctuary is steeped in history and folklore too! Here’s a few fun facts you might not know about this sanctuary: 1. In the past Deniliquin’s Island Sanctuary was also known as "Coward's Island", Taylor's Island" and "Crusoe's Island". 2. It was here, on high ground between the punt and the ford across the river, that the town's first medico, Dr Coward set up his "rooms" in 1847. Said to be the first buildings to be established in Deniliquin on the south side of the Edward River. 3. Near the Tarangle Creek is a tree now called Jack’s Tree which is recorded as the marking point of the grave of notorious bushranger Old Jack of the Melville Gang. 4. A Chinese market garden was established here on the island in the early 20th century. 5. Yarkuwa Indigenous Knowledge Centre offer guided cultural tours of the sanctuary, where you can learn about the significance of flora and what it’s traditionally used for, you’ll also have an opportunity to view a scarred tree. Call ahead to book a tour on 03 5881 3312. Got your attention?! 14.01.2022 BUCKET LIST PLAYGROUND Spring is the perfect season for outings with your little ones and who doesn’t love discovering a new play space! With W...inter drawing to an end and September school holidays looming, here’s one playground your tribe are sure to love... ... Hello Scott’s Park, otherwise known as Rocket Park. Why the nickname of Rocket Park? Well, there’s a little bit of history to this play space. In fact the park has been entertaining locals and visitors alike since the Moon Rocket arrived back in 1968! The Moon Rocket, still a key feature of the park to this day, was built by Dick West. His family all worked with horses and he learnt his blacksmith & welding skills from them and on sheep properties where he worked when he left school. Dick built his first playground 'Moon Rocket' in 1961, which he based on plans brought back from America. It was 30 feet high and was the first of 38 moon rockets found in playgrounds around Australia, including our very own at Scott's Park. He also built an elephant slippery slide and a variety of vintage cars amongst other things which are also still at Scott's Park. Fast forward till today and the park features a BMX pump track, climbing wall, climbing net, nature play equipment, sand digger, flying fox and all-abilities play equipment. That’s not all though! Besides loads more fun play equipment, it is also home to Deni’s very own water tower art! Safe to say the precinct has something to appeal to all - from toddlers through to teens, and even mum & dad. Psst. You don’t need to wait until Spring arrives. With loads of sunny days, Winter is also a great time for some play time!

06.01.2022 Following the announcements from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services to lock down the current Covid-19 hotspots in Melbourne including the suburbs of 3012, 3021, 3032, 3038, 3042, 3046, 3047, 3055, 3060, 3064; we are therefore not allowed to have guests enter the park after midnight tonight from these postcodes. Anyone already in the park with this postcode is allowed to continue their current holiday plans. The NSW Government has also announced that anyon...e with a Victorian hotspot address could also be fined up to $11,000 if found in NSW during this period of suburb lockdown. It is very unfortunate that the current situation has required this drastic action from the government, but we will play our part in following the restrictions announced to help to contain this outbreak before it reaches further into the community. If you have accommodation booked in the next few weeks and you are resident in one of these hotspots we will endeavor to help change your booking as required. Please email us at [email protected] Thank you again for your patience and co-operation in helping us deal with this worrying situation. #deniliquin #covid
