20.01.2022 Vocational education better than uni degree for chances of full time work. Might have more to do with young kids leaving school and doing a uni degree that they discover they're not that interested in.

20.01.2022 Forklifts must only be operated by a person holding a current high risk work forklift license. It is against the law to operate one unlicensed and with penalties including fines and possible prosecution for companies that are caught to be allowing this practice, now is the best time to stop making excuses such as, "it takes too long" or "it is too expensive" and have licensed operators ONLY on their forklifts. WHS law in Australia stipulate that a business/pcbu must take rea...Continue reading

02.01.2022 8 students, 4 days of Training with a successful group of new elevated work platform (EWP) operators. And that was only last week. 6 of the last 7 weeks I have been all over NSW teaching people to operate EWP's and Forklifts safely and efficiently, so they can sit their competency assessment with the knowledge and skills they need, to pass the high risk work assessment and get their license to operate the respective machines. In some cases, staying back a couple of hours to ...ensure the learners could demonstrate a full understanding of the content to provide them with the best chance of passing the assessment. I had to make some hard decisions along the way but the intent is the same, I'll put in the work to give my students the best chance possible, but unfortunately not everyone is cut out to operate machinery. Difficult conversations are always tricky and with honest and open communication the people accepted that they weren't successful and the reasons why were well explained. I have also got to use the safety leadership skills gained while working at Origin to deliver Construction Industry White card and manual handling courses.
