15.01.2022 Thank you to Litchfield Lions Club, who recently presented a cheque for $400 to the Reserve from the sausage sizzle they held at the Bushcare Major Day Out 2018. Thanks for the photos Kirsty Sayers-Hunt
13.01.2022 Is that Elvis? Whose face do you see? This is the back of a Catacanthus incarnatus, or what is sometimes called a Man-faced Stink Bug. What an interesting find indeed, from Charliev in Thailand. #insects #nature #face #smile #Thailand #citsci #outdoors #biodiversity
12.01.2022 NO MORE FUNDING for Land For Wildlife- For the last 9 years Land for Wildlife has been receiving a moderate amount of core funding from Parks and Wildlife NT, w...hich we are very grateful for. This is currently administered through Greening Australia and the money goes towards employing a coordinator and the use of a vehicle and office. Additional funding from various grants has also assisted with threatened species programs. The program supports voluntary wildlife conservation, supporting landholders to provide wildlife habitat through nature conservation and land management and promotes wildlife awareness and education. From July of this year (yep in 6 weeks) this program will no longer receive ongoing funding from Parks and Wildlife. We are trying to secure other funding as well as looking for ideas about how it can run with a volunteer base or other models. If you are involved in this program and/ or like the work we do, and would like NT Government to continue funding it, you may also be able to help by writing to the Environment minister (Eva Lawler) and Tourism Minister (Lauren Moss) who overseas Parks and Wildlife- which is now under Tourism not Environment. [email protected], [email protected] and feel free to write to us with ideas, updates or feedback [email protected] and PLEASE SHARE this. See more

12.01.2022 Not all frogs are green like Kermit The colours on this Mantella baroni from Madagascar are stunning, but also a warning. This frogs skin is toxic, due to its diet high in ants, beetles, and mites. Great sighting from Life Gone Wild. #toxic #frogs #nature #questagaming
10.01.2022 United Colours of Stink Bugs. QG player Thomas M C submitted this collection of what appear to be Litchi Stink Bugs (Lyramorpha rosea) in #Sydney. Beautiful to behold, but dont get too close. They can squirt a noxious, even blinding, chemical up to 10cm. #nature #biodiversity
10.01.2022 QUOLL-ITY FIND! A critically endangered northern quoll has been found living in the northern suburbs of Darwin! Spotting this young female is very exciting new...s as it suggests theres a breeding population in the Darwin urban area, and perhaps, that there are clever quolls learning to avoid cane toads! If youre lucky enough to spot a quoll in the urban area, please report your sighting Parks and Wildlife, Wildlife Rangers on 0401 115 702.
