25.01.2022 Modernised this kitchen by opening up the wall to cap off the hot/cold, installed new hot /cold from the hws outside and plumbed in a new kitchen mixer tap with 20years warranty. Made an extra water outlet for the dishwasher, removed the grey flexible spaghetti drain which had crazy backfall & installed new waste with trap to attach the dishwasher waste into. 24.01.2022 ** It's not nice to say bad things about another company so won't mention names.. They came out to this pensioners place 2 streets from my place on sat morning. (already would have been weekend call out rates) and knowing they most likely would need jet blaster (but they don't say it's extra or how much it is until they get there). $390 on top of the call out and minimum charge.. They were in and out very quickly and surprised him with the extra amount for the jetter to w...hat I assume to have pretended to actually try and clear the blocked sewer and said the pipe was collapsed and needed to be dug up and replaced... For $10,000... The guy called me up and asked me to quote also. After reading their invoice and quote I asked the man if I could try and clear it. With one very easy and soft push with my plunger I cleared the sewer and it started running.. Put my camera down the line and found this guys sewer was in perfect condition and down the shaft went straight into the mains sewer where it isn't his problem anymore. The problem was roots getting into this main line.... 6 metres into the neighbours yard well and truly out of this poor clients responsibility. Not only did the first company charge several hundred to a grand just to pretend to unblock the sewer, but then hit him with a big quote which wouldn't have solved anything anyway.. They most definitely would just have replaced his perfectly good conditioned boundary riser with pvc and cleared the pipe properly sneakily (as the client would be sus if they had to use the jet again because it didn't work the first time). Gives plumbers a bad name. I unblocked this guys sewer within an hour and will be in contact with Sydney water about trying to get him reimbursement for paying plumbers to fix their sewer. 24.01.2022 Relining. This sewer Junction under the garage concrete slab was almost completely missing! We managed to get a Junction reline down the stack access and bridge the massive gap to make our own new Junction from above ground. Client was stoked at how much we were able to do the job for especially in comparison to the other quotes. 35 year warranty on this reline, it will be stronger than the rest of the house pipes!... 24.01.2022 House set on hard clay backfill, 90mm pvc pipe came away from joints allowing roots in, pipe had sunken.. Installed a few rubber joints to allow for any movement in future. Do it right the first time. Put in 100mm instead of 90mm. 90mm should only be used for above ground work/ downpipes as it's thinner material and joints aren't as long. 19.01.2022 Nitrogen tested water line to locate pipe leak location, pipe ran directly under scrubs, so to avoid digging them up, we diverted the pipe and penetrated the retaining wall directly behind water meter and ran new copper line to replace the bad poly connection which was loose and caused the leak. 19.01.2022 Sump pump upgrade for another local. Old pump had lasted a long time but was starting to fail and was always slow to pump out. We cleaned the sump from loose debri / mud, installed a pvc pit which we drilled holes into, wrapped with geo fabric & another layer of a more perforated mat to allow water to enter the pit. Installed blue metal around to fill the gaps & filter out more debri and hold off the walls of the ground from falling against the pit. This new pump is a massive... step up and can handle some debri as it will grind it up. It was a custom install and this is one of the many little ways in which we are 'more than just a plumber...' 19.01.2022 Found the houses main sewer line had a section of clay pipe replaced with pvc. The ground was not compacted and no blue metal/aggregate filled in the hole. Over several years that new pipe dropped/sunk in the ground approx 250mm. Causing the Junction in the main riser to shear/snap off completely. Installed opposing Junctions for future reline, packed new pipe with blue metal, tied the risers together to brace them and help prevent them from being pushed over. 12.01.2022 Hot water upgrade for a pharmacy in Bella Vista. Old electric instantaneous heater broke down, they have very weak pressure /water flow. I upgraded them to a normal hot water storage tank which is hotter and has normal pressure! As you are supposed to have a drain on the tray in case of leaks, the way around it was to install a 'beaver' valve (auto water shut off valve), when the 2 metal contacts under it are in contact with water, it connects the signal and a solenoid valve ...shuts off the water supply to prevent water damage! 06.01.2022 Closest job I'll ever get, fixing our rear fence, the neighbours big water tank was sitting on very soft ground slightly higher than our ground level, over 15 years it's slowly pushed the ground, 'retaining logs', fence posts over significantly. They contracted me to rectify this situation which I completely respect as it is the right thing to do for your neighbour when your property disrupts another's. 06.01.2022 Rebuilt a rusted out gutter with a couple of plastic angles by tucking one side up behind the old gutter and installing another piece on the front side of gutter, having the 2x pieces overlap and silicone joined them together, reinforced/held it up with some aluminium angle, sealed the gutter to the garage wall form above, installed a downpipe which old gutter never had, installed a rubber strip in front of the garage threshold to prevent ground water entering under the door. These weren't 'for good' works but were a cost effective solution thinking outside the square to give this amazing client a more dry garage floor and long term/temporary relief for a possible future sale of the property. #mcmurrayplumbing #plumber #rebuild #waterproof #morethanjustplumbing
