25.01.2022 NEW IN @nemojantzen ‘Bubbles’ 2021, mixed media and acrylic / glass spheres, 120h d 122w x 3d cm. To view all available works by Jantzen, visit our online stockroom. Link in bio.... Nemo Jantzen, born 1970 in The Haque, studied art, design and photography at the RTO Art Academy in Rotterdam. After his studies, he moved to Antwerp to work as a graphic designer and bill-board artist while further developing his technique and style as a fine artist. Finally, after several years in Belgium and some worldly travels, he settled down in Spain where he dedicated his career to fine art. Jantzen has established himself over the last 20 years working as a contemporary artist best known for his Pop Art, installations, and hyperrealistic paintings. His artwork is highly acclaimed in most leading art markets and galleries in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Singapore among others, and can be found in renowned art collections both public institutions and private. Claudia Schieffer Actress, Acalzar Financial Group Public Collection, Weelock Properties Singapore, Caixa Barcelona City Cultural Instittution, among others. In the latest series, inspired by media, pop culture, and film Jantzen takes Neo-pointillism to the next level utilizing thousands collection of photography, cinematographic stills, and other collected material encapsulated in glass spheres; hiding and revealing a subject filtered idealized world through the eye of the beholder and depicting the banality of our society and trends in symbolic evocation of a contemporary human journey. The artist is not in-terested in fragmentation of objects in the real world; he is interested in disclosing the unity underlying reality. Jantzen goes beyond telling a one image story and depicting a voyeuristic look into another world(s) and reality. With large scale images built up out of hundreds of small image; stories encapsulated in glass spheres the work simply keeps repeating to the viewers The closer you look, the less you see. Currently, he works from both his studio in Barcelona and New York. Always staying abreast of the rapidly changing contemporary art world by keeping his work innovative and fresh.

22.01.2022 From a piece of alabaster to an interlocking feminine form... see available works by gallery artist @_carolcrawford_ via our online stockroom. Link in bio. I consider myself a late career artist,’ says Carol Crawford. This mature blooming hasn’t held Carol’s practice back at all. In fact, it’s ensured her style is confident and fluid the perfect fusion of inspiration and intuition. ‘I always try to preserve the characters of the raw stone, as this is its innate personalit...y,’ says Carol. ‘I do not try to inflict my opinion on it rather, it is a soft and slow conversation, back and forth, until we are both happy with the finished form.’ Carol came to sculpting in the early 2000s, after she had children and after she had studied art history at university. The moment came to settle on stone sculpture when she enrolled in classes at renowned artist Tom Bass’s Erskenville atelier. More than a decade and a half after those initial lessons, she is the chair of the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School, which now runs as a not-for-profit. Working with solid, intractable materials such as alabaster, bronze, soapstone, marble and plaster, Carol creates spherical, feminine bodies. ‘Sharp edges and hard lines are abhorrent to me, as is measuring and exactness,’ she says. ‘Nothing is geometric about my sculptures. They are flowering and imperfect.’ Article by Sasha Gattermayr, May 17th 2021 via The Design Files.

09.01.2022 Agneta Ekholm RAPTURE, 2020 Acrylic on canvas 85h x 150w cm $8,000... Preview now available online. Officially opening Jan 21st, RSVP essential. Ekholm says of her practice, Working with fast-drying acrylic and water, I use a sponge to apply layer upon layer of shapes and gestures with solid pigment and transparent washes, while continually washing and rubbing sections away until the final complex image is built. I may work for days on a small isolated section of the painting. It is an obsessive and fastidious process and the work travels a complex journey of twists and turns before I have found the ‘solution’ which is that painting’s final incarnation.
