22.01.2022 Got stuck into a late one just before Easter. Replacement evaporator coil for this older fridge at The Storehouse in Mount Evelyn (Great coffee!). This evaporator had lasted 15 years before developing a tiny pin hole leak in the core somewhere. Sourced a custom replacement, and fit. Very happy cafe owners!

22.01.2022 Vaccines that are designed to be kept refrigerated, have a shorter shelf life when kept at room temps, but they can be completely ineffective if frozen. The worst thing is, there is no way to tell if a frozen, then thawed vaccine that has been administered, has been effective in the immunisation process of that individual. Thats why the cold chain is so important. It tracks the temps of vaccines, where ever they are; in transport, in a storage facility, at the manufacturer, or sitting in the QCPP fridge at your local pharmacy. 22.01.2022 Completed a weekend call for an important customer. The AC unit decided to leak water through the ceiling tiles. Got the area safe and sorted ready for further repairs later in the week.

21.01.2022 Safety first! Falling injurys are 100% preventable. Always use a safety harness kit for any work on roofs. We were supplied this kit by the guys at Total Tools. We are going to be able to service this unit and keep the customer happy, while not causing injury to ourselves or anyone else. Thanks guys!

18.01.2022 Tool maintenance - it is not rocket science, and it keeps you alive! After doing my pre-job checks on my equipment just before a job recently, I discovered this nasty little issue. My electrical multi meter lead had somehow managed to get a nick in it, leaving the wires exposed. Had this come into contact with me in anyway while in use, it could have delivered a proper electrical shock to the user. Cut the end off, threw in the bin and got new ones.... Job safety is so easy to complete, and allows you to come home safely to family, which is what matters most.

17.01.2022 Ice Ice baby! This is what happens when a supermarket has its open reach in cases set too cold, with defrosts set too far apart. This cabinet was sitting at 9c, and just not maintaining its keep! Got it all defrosted, reset the controller and set temps, and it is back in business.

15.01.2022 One of our longest term customers had a serious breakdown over night that threatened their stock. We found the problem, replaced the failed overload and contactor, and they are back in business. Premier Chicken in Dandenong, best parmas ever just quietly!

10.01.2022 We are still here! With everything happening in the world, believe it or not, we have never been busier! We put this easy one in today. Simple back to back replacement for a customer with a young child. Old unit had failed, time to put a new one in. Customer supplied the unit and with some help from the guys at JL Hutt Electrical, we got this one up and running today. Toasty winters for this family.

08.01.2022 Complicated one today. Evaporator and compressor change for this older Subzero unit. Completing welding inside someone’s very expensive home in Toorak is always something you don’t want to have to do. But with the right safe guards and working slow, it can be done safely and efficiently, with excellent results. Got the unit operating and back to -18c, storing frozen food and making ice for the owners. Very happy campers!

07.01.2022 Today is "Get you cool room serviced in September before it blows up in October" Day!!! This is the time of year where it is critical to get your refrigeration systems checked and serviced prior to the heat kicking in. Mid to late October we usually get our first day over 30c, and most refrigeration systems that havent been feeling the love from their owners, decide it is time to fall over. And usually it is at the most inopportune times........like on a Friday afternoon...a...t 5pm...when you have a wedding function on in 2 hrs. Get your cool room summer proofed!! Get a regular maintenance contract in place, and look after your cool room, so it can look after you!

07.01.2022 And here is why you MUST get your air conditioner serviced! (this is a split system fan for those not in the know). This air con had lost its ability to move air almost entirely. The unit was unable to pull air over the cooling coil, and was just "not as cold as it used to be". After this service, the air flow was 10 times greater than before, and the air con was able to take the heat out of the internal air. Call us to make sure you arent breathing this in!!

06.01.2022 Filters, filters, filters - they MUST be kept clean. Blocked filters = low air flow rates = low heat transfer load from the air = low suction gas pressure = greater load on the compressor to operate = higher running costs = notably shorter compressor life.........it means your spending LOTS of money you dont have to. Get yours checked so you arent breathing this!

05.01.2022 Sometimes things just break. This was an interface relay (ABB brand, which are normally pretty good) that had blown while the unit was under warranty. The relay coil itself, in the low pressure control circuit (which is used as a digital input for a staging controller), decided to go all short circuit on us, and blow a nice hole in the side and leave a trail of carbon. Ordered new ones, return and fit them, customer happy to have their fruit produce cabinet back in service!

04.01.2022 Another quality cool room installation for a pharmaceutical testing company. The room was designed around the required 2-8c vaccine stock temps. The drain was pumped up to an available drain location point above the room. Clients are very happy!
