23.01.2022 This year we hosted 88 Mother's Day Classic events with up to 100,000 people across the country showing support by running, walking, volunteering or fundraising... in support of a cause that affects so many Australian families. The Mother's Day Classic community donated $1.75 million to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to fund life-saving breast cancer research projects. These funds are now helping researchers find new ways to diagnose and treat breast cancer. Thank you to the Mother's Day Classic family for making Mother's Day mean more in 2019. We look forward to another wonderful year ahead in 2020.

18.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month - an opportunity for all of us to focus on raising awareness for the disease and the importance of ra...ising funds for life-saving research projects. Since the inception of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in 1994, the 5-year survival rate has improved from 76% to 91%. But there is still a long way to go with 53 women still diagnosed in Australia every single day. Research is the only way that we can understand more about the cause and development of breast cancer so that we can more effectively diagnose and treat it. If you'd like to make a difference to the future of breast cancer, you can donate to vital research projects at http://bit.ly/2kZujLH - every dollar helps us get that bit closer to finding a cure.

17.01.2022 Christmas is a time of joy and fun, but for many it will be a time when they hear some difficult news - they, or someone that they love has been diagnosed with ...breast cancer. Every dollar raised this month will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to fund life-saving breast cancer research projects so that we can more effectively prevent, diagnose and treat it. Show your support for the 53 women who will be diagnosed today by donating to the Mother's Day Classic Foundation - http://bit.ly/2YsReP3

17.01.2022 We have Australians from all corners of the country joining us for MDC Virtual 2020! We'd love to hear in the comments below where you will be walking/running this Mother's Day

14.01.2022 Since the inception of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in 1994, the 5-year survival rate for breast cancer has improved from 76% to 91% - statisti...cal proof that research is saving lives. Thanks to support from Mother’s Day Classic fundraisers and donors every year, we can fund vital research projects including Professor Kum Kum Khana’s research into developing a new drug to treat triple-negative breast cancer. Tipple negative breast cancers are present in up to 20% of breast cancer patients with these tumours known for being aggressive and fast-growing. The TP53 gene plays a role in the development of these tumours and is present in 85% of patient with triple-negative breast cancer. Professor Kum Kum Khana’s research involves combining chemotherapy with a drug called auranofin to investigate its efficacy against cancers with this mutant p53 gene. The advantage of repurposing auranofin is that the timeline and cost to take the drug through clinical trials will be far less, providing a quicker, cheaper alternative compared to a completely new drug.
