16.01.2022 Just because we’re not meeting in person this year, doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate our EPIC guest speaker! Meet Julia. Julia was 38 years old, when a trip to the Doctor for possible shingles ended up with her receiving treatment in Toowoomba for breast cancer! To say this was a stressful period is an understatement, but Julia has been able to come through her chapter with a skill set she otherwise wouldn’t have. It has seen her support women across the SW Queensland region, and become a fan of lycra with Tour de Cure Australia! Nothing is smooth sailing but Julia will share her experience and beliefs on how she managed during this time of her life. #mothersdayclassic #makeitmeanmore #mdctoowoomba

11.01.2022 We have heard some beautiful stories of Australians purchasing a Mother's Day Classic registration for someone else as a way of paying it forward If you are looking to get your friends/family involved in the Mother's Day Classic, why not sign them up and ask them to do the same for someone they love. Staying active and connected during these times is as important as ever so what better way to show someone that you are thinking of them We'd love to hear in the comments below how you are paying it forward

09.01.2022 Community is so important, and finding a cause that your community can get behind is a gift! @julia.telford.10 has found a community in Tour de Cure Australia. This organisation uses the love of cycling (for some), with the love of finding a cure (for all of us!). As a result of a friend taking part in TDC tour in 2018, Julia decided to sign up to be a supporter in 2019, watching men and women cycle from Sydney to Geelong, through the Snowy Mountains! ... Julia was awarded the GRIT award on the final night of tour, and now proudly has lycra in her wardrobe! Our #MothersDayClassic community is so proud to welcome Julia. To get involved, register at the link in our bio.

07.01.2022 Our priority is protecting the health of our loyal Mother’s Day Classic supporters. In light of the Australian Chief Medical Officer’s recommendation of limiting mass public gatherings of more than 500 people, the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation is reviewing the status of each of its 90 events around the country, big and small, and we will provide an update shortly. We are putting in place plans for a virtual or other form of event to allow our supporters to get involved on Mother’s Day and continue raising awareness and support for breast cancer research. For over 22 years the Mother’s Day Classic has brought the community together to raise funds for vital breast cancer research and to celebrate and remember those touched by breast cancer. We believe that this can still be achieved. #watchthisspace #mdctoowoomba
