25.01.2022 COVID-19 economic stimulus package The Government has just announced an economic stimulus package to assist in supporting the economic effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This includes: - One off $750 payment to social security, veteran and other income support recipients and eligible concession card holders.... For businesses - Instant asset write-off threshold increased from $30,000 to $150,000 for businesses with aggregated turnover of less than $500M. - 15 month investment incentive (through to 30 June 2021) to support businesses investing in asset installation (50% deduction). - Between $2,000 and $25,000 in cash flow assistance to support retaining staff for small businesses by reducing PAYG withholding to 50% for six months. - 50% wage subsidies for businesses with trainees/apprentices for up to nine months from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2020. For regions - Up to $1B in support for regions affected by Coronavirus including one off ad hoc ATO grants.

22.01.2022 Age Pension Case Study: We met with a new client that was Age Pension Age however, due to their existing income/assets was not eligible for any Age Pension entitlement and in turn did not receive the Pension Concession Card. We implemented a strategy which involved a restructure of their financial position which resulted in the client receiving $886 per fortnight in Age Pension (or $23,000 pa) plus the golden ticket, the Pension Concession Card.... Excellent result for the client!

Temporary early release of super... Applications can be made to the ATO via MyGov to access some of your super funds under a new temporary coronavirus related condition of release. An application can be lodged before 30 June 2020 to access one amount of up to $10,000. You may also be able to submit a second application to access another lump sum of up to $10,000 between 1 July and 24 September 2020. How to apply for early release via MyGov? 1). Login to your MyGov account by visiting the following page https://my.gov.au 2). Select the ATO service 3). Click the View button alongside COVID-19 4). Click the Apply button alongside Early Release of Super 5). Coronavirus - Early release of super home page: read important information before clicking Apply 6). Check each box after confirming eligibility details and information in each box and then click Next 7). Select the reason for your application and then click Next 8). The accumulation accounts that the ATO has on record for you will be displayed. The balances shown may not reflect your current account balance so you should check with your fund if you think your balance may not be sufficient. Click Next 9). Check that all information on the Summary screen is correct. Read the important Declaration information before you check the box to sign the declaration and Click Submit The ATO will assess your application and will make a determination if youre eligible for a release. They will send a determination to you and also the super fund/s that you nominated. It is expected that this process will take a few days. Your fund will then be able to process the release to you.
