25.01.2022 MD Sports - Supplier of Kalkarindji School "Kalkarindji, also known as Wave Hill, is located 480km south west of Katherine on the Buntine Highway and is abundant in natural beauty with unique landscapes. In August 1966 Vincent Lingiari lead 200 Gurindji stockmen, house servants and their families for the famously known Wave Hill walk-off, also known as the Gurindji strike. The strike lasted 7 years and In 1975 the area became Australia's first recognised Aboriginal land claim, Which saw the land returned to the original settlers - the Gurindji people. This story has been recorded by singer Paul Kelly in the well known Australian song, ‘From Little Things, Big Things Grow'."

18.01.2022 MD Sports - Supplier and Sponsor of Active Feet Katherine Ten young gymnasts from the Katherine Active Feet Gymnastic team attended the 2019 National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival Held in the Gold Coast, with Over 5000 gymnasts participated in the games. Coached by Megan Pickering, the team excelled with a silver medal for their floor routine.

17.01.2022 MD Sports Supplier of the 2019 Big Horse Creek Barramundi Classic, fishing shirts. "The Big Horse Creek Barramundi Classic is hosted by the Katherine Game Fishing Club, held on the Victoria River at Timber Creek. The comp runs annually over the May Day long weekend, which saw the 32nd anniversary of the event in 2019. The competition is family oriented and highly attended from fishing enthusiast in the region. The iconic Barramundi is the target species for the tournament, however even catfish are a scoring catch . Rod and Rifle Tackleworld (Katherine) are the long time premier sponsors of the competition."

The Theme was Mexican, for dress up night. So Our uniform design was based off that and put together piece by piece by our team members, using the word program on Microsoft. MD Sports Designers then enhanced our vision and did a fantastic job. ... We not only ordered long sleeve shirts but also had matching polo shirts as well. We all looked great however the fish didn’t appreciate our flair for design and unfortunately we didn’t catch a thing except maybe a few snags. 10.01.2022 The Nitmuluk Cup & Nitmuluk Shield is a super 6s and Super 8s competition held at the Dr Peter Short Oval in Katherine. This year hosted 11 ‘Top End’ cricket teams competing over a two day competition. Congratulations to the Timber Creek Bushturkeys who are the 2019 Nitmuluk Shield champions by defeating ‘Bad Company’ in the Final. In the Nitmuluk Cup, Team United were victorious defeating Katherine Camels by 24 runs.

08.01.2022 TOP END PENNANTS The Katherine Golf Club had Teams competing In both Div 1 & Div 2 of the the 2019 Top End External Pennants competition. Both teams made their way through preliminary rounds and eventually on to make it to the big dance of the finale. In the Division 1 final, the talented Katherine Pennants team had a tight tussle with Humpty Doo and played solidly throughout but were unable to overcome Humpty Doo’s advantage of home course. ... MDS have collaborated with Local Katherine Artist Anthony 'Froggy' Busch to design the Big River Hawks training singlet for the 2019/20 NTFL season. "The symbols on the wings represent the communities where players come from around the region and the symbol in the middle represents Katherine. You can see the rivers that flow from the communities to Katherine flowing through the landscape that connects us and bring us together to form the Big River Hawks."

01.01.2022 MD Sports Proud Suppliers of Singlets and hats to the Katherine Athletics Centre, 'Little Snappers' program. KAC have just completed the Katherine Athletics Championships with some athlete's competing in all track and field events over the last few weeks, seeing many personal bests achieved. KAC athlete's went on to represent Katherine and compete in the 2020 NT Team Challenge on the 18th of September, held in darwin. Well done and congratulations to all involved.
