25.01.2022 Book week #childrens book week It has been fascinating to see that many many more children have joined us on Zoom meetings to share your special books with us. We had our special visitor T-rex from our toddler room to share this special moment with everyone! Thank you to our amazing team who have been dedicated to keeping up with delivering the quality education to all of our children both onsite and online ... We miss all in the centre under this ever-challenging time! Keep safe and keep your great learning with us!

24.01.2022 Our Winter Trees Our Pre-Kinder children recently found that there are no leaves on the trees and they would like to make their own winter trees that are different to other seasons trees and they even added their snow looking on their winter trees! Well done pre-kinders!

24.01.2022 In the morning, our Kinder 1 children were so curious to see and feel different types of leaves and were enthusiastically making patterns and symbols out of it to make meanings. They made shapes, letters and images like house, boat, cakes, flowers etc and were developing an understanding that symbols are a powerful means of communication and that ideas, thoughts and concepts can be represented through them. They were so innovative in creating their ephemeral art ideas using the natural resources.

23.01.2022 Creating a sweet friendship It is vitally significant for children to form friendships as it will bring them pleasure, comfort, and important opportunities to learn and develop socially, cognitively, emotionally and physically. It will begin to broaden their language and communicating development.

23.01.2022 Teddy Bear Day Today our children had a fantastic Teddy Bear day, and thanks to the sunshine we feel like walking to a Spring time today. We started our day in the morning by discussing about our Teddy Bear Picnic day and then making our Teddy Bear Biscuits. At lunch time, weve had our Teddy Bear Picnic with assorted of sandwiches both indoor and outdoor. In the afternoon weve been so excited seeing our baked teddy Bear Cookies and some of our friends also had their teddy b...ear dancing in the centre. We would like also to send our cuddles and kisses to all of our families and children under this very challenging time. We are sending our warmest love and hugs to everyone and hoping that everyone stays well and strong!

22.01.2022 What a wonderful Diwali festival we celebrated on last Friday! Dancing, singing, laughs, colourful drawings and crafts and cooking experiences kept us all very happy and excited!

21.01.2022 Thomastown Spoon Village Our Thomastown Spoon Village is created at Me For Kids Thomastown Learning Centres front grass patch. It is located at 113 Dalton Road Thomastown. Everyone is welcome to join our spoon village family.... Make sure the bits on your spoons dont fly away. Come and see our spoony people but please dont touch. Be creative, our spoon village citizens in all shapes, size and colours. We hope that we will see more and more our Spoony people growing at our Thomastown Spoon Village and most of all bring our locals with more love and hopes under this ever-challenging time!

Educators also support parents through thick and thin, and this year, theyve met the great challenges of COVID-19 and continued to provide safe and essential child care when weve needed it most.... With all this in mind, were glad of the opportunity to give a little back. This year, and every year, were so grateful for the efforts of our educators, and we wish you all a very happy Early Childhood Educators Day.

20.01.2022 Friendship is so critically important in a childs life and it builds up a childs sense of identity, agency and belonging during the social interactions with others. At Me For Kids Thomastown Learning Centre, we are aimed to promote a positive friendship between children by using a positive social interactions approach to encourage the positive relationships between friends. We are so glad to see how our children are being around each other and supporting each other when we need a hand from our friends and understand what a positive friendship means in our everyday life starting from a young age.

20.01.2022 Science week: Science can be so simple and fun by offering opportunities for our young children to try out different expriments, such as placing cooking oil, food dye, water in a sealed bag for children to touch, feel and see the combination of liquid and colour.

18.01.2022 Our little ones' gardening Our young nursery and toddler friends have shown great interest in our gardening, busy with watering and planting our garden with our lovely environmental officer Kimmie! We've been impressed to see how much interest our youngest group of children have shown in our veggie garden! We've harvested our first bunch bok choy this week, and they've grown so quickly because of the great care!

15.01.2022 There is so much fun that children at such a young age would learn from sharing toys and turn-taking with their friends. Social skills play a critical role in a childs learning and this helps our children build their own identity and agency in their peer group. 13.01.2022 We're going on a bear hunt! Our amazing educator Katia made such an interactive and crafty prop show of 'We're going on a bear hunt' and later yesterday we had our bear hunt in our beautfiul spacious yard!

11.01.2022 Making Our Own Pizza Day!!! Our Kinder children had a cooking experience to make their own pizza for lunch today. Children enjoyed adding their favorite toppings for their own pizza, putting their pizzas into the oven and eating their own pizzas. This is not only part of our Healthy Eating program to encourage the healthy eating lifestyle but also bringing the real life skills for children's everyday experiences.

10.01.2022 Celebrate Australia's Day Our children have been celebrating Australia's Day at the centre by making the aboriginal bread - Damper, Vegemite bread, fairy bread and working on many other art activities too!

10.01.2022 Science week: sharing our favourite science activities with our families who would be able to easily follow it through at home with your little ones. Food dye, a small amount milk, a dip of dishwashing liquid, a cotton bud. Mix them up, children would be able to see the mixture of different colours!

05.01.2022 Chinese New Year To welcome the Chinese New Year this week, our educator brought some traditional Chinese outfits - 'Qipao' for our children to understand and experience as part of acknowledging and learning about the culture Chinese New Year.

05.01.2022 Learning About Bees Considering our Kinder 1 Room's interest, we explored a bee learning kit with original specimens of bees -drones, Queen and workers, a honeycomb and it’s foundation, original eggs, larva and pupa. Our children were so excited to see these specimens along with bee wax, pollens and honey. Our Kinders shared their pre existing knowledge about bees- their body parts, bees collect honey from flowers and about honey combs. They were very curious to learn the fac...ts that specific types of bees do specific jobs ; Queen bees lay eggs and the worker ants collect honey, eggs of bees are so tiny and about the life stages of a bee. During this learning experience, Our children exhibited their skills to express wonder, curiosity and enthusiasm by engaging in a variety of rich and meaningful inquiries. They are also broadening their understanding about the ecosystem and interdependence of the living things.

04.01.2022 Science Friday: We made a fun experiment today, using some vinegar, food colour, balloons, empty recycled bottle and some baking soda. We had our step-by-step experiment. We observed the change of balloons while ballons became larger from the vinegar and baking soda combining together, making a reaction.

03.01.2022 Oh-ho! Pajamas Day is one of our favorite event days and here is how we connect between our centre environment and our childrens and also teachers home environment. 03.01.2022 Today our Kinder children had an exciting incursion session conducted by Ms Liz of ‘Marvellous Minibeasts’ in our centre as a follow-up of our children’s recent interest in insects. 02.01.2022 Our Kinder Spinosaurus Our Kinder Teacher Raya is eager to share the great artworks that our Kinder children and teacher have drawn for their own spinosaurus. Weve displayed them on our hallway as we are very proud of our childrens works so are our children.... Our amazing children are the most wonderful group of people who share the fearless spirits and eager to take the adventure to know about the world.
