13.01.2022 Apologies to anyone who may have been trying to contact us in the past half an hour or so, we had no power (no phones, no computers, no aircon!) Thankfully power has now been restored, however if you’re still having trouble getting through on our phones you can call Dr Paul’s mobile - 0403 301 205

09.01.2022 We had the pleasure of being able to reunite Tyson with his owners this morning after over 2 MONTHS of being missing!!! Although he was microchipped & his owners scoured the area, put up posts on social media, called pounds & vets, & checked pound listings daily, Tyson was nowhere to be found But today Tyson was brought into our clinic, after his enquiring finder, unsure of what to do with the dog they had found sometime ago, was encouraged by one of our nurses to bring him... in to be scanned for a microchip. Surely enough, Tyson had a microchip & his rightful owners were able to be contacted & picked him up ASAP! Tyson’s situation highlights the importance of TAKING ANY STRAY or LOST ANIMAL in to either a vet, or contacting Council or a pound facility TO BE SCANNED for a microchip, to save them from unnecessary, lengthy time away from home, or never even getting home. It is actually an offence under the Domestic Animal Act to hold onto a stray animal & not hand it over to the local council or vet. The other importance is MICROCHIPPING YOUR PETS - this simple, inexpensive procedure, (provided you keep your details up to date on the database), ensures that you will be contacted if your pet ends up lost & in a vet clinic or pound. If your pet is not microchipped, we urge you to do-so as soon as possible by calling the clinic on 9309 3199 to book an appointment. If you are unsure of whether your pet’s microchip details are up to date, you can visit petaddress.com.au to enter their microchip number & be given the link for the database your pets details are on. Enjoy your time back at home with your family, Tyson!

09.01.2022 This lovely Cockatoo was handed in at the clinic today, he/she was found in Meadow Heights, has a ring on its foot & says some words. Please share to help find the owner. He/she will go into care tomorrow afternoon until, hopefully, the owner can be found.

08.01.2022 We’ve all seen the devastation & loss across our country caused by bushfires - human & animal lives lost; properties & habitats wiped out; people, their pets, wildlife & livestock left with no where to go. And sadly this will not be the end of it. We’d all like to do our part to help & that’s why we at Meadow Heights Vet Clinic & Watsonia Vet Centre are pledging FREE VETERINARY TREATMENT to any pet or wildlife affected by the fires. As well as donating our services, our staff & our clinics are also donating funds & much-needed goods towards the care of animals injured during the fires. If you, too, would like to help, please see comments for links about how you can help & what is needed, or please contact us on 9309 3199.
