22.01.2022 Oh my these puppies came in for their vaccinations yesterday - talk about cuteness overload! They were absolutely gorgeous! They all have new homes ready to go & their new families will be very lucky to have them!
21.01.2022 To all of our clients please be aware that as we are considered an essential service we are allowed to remain open. However non essential services such as routine grooming are being postponed. We will be able to provide any service where the health, comfort or welfare of an animal is at risk. If you are unsure please phone the clinic & speak with our nurses for advice. We ask that all clients attending the clinic remain outside the building unless asked to enter & of course to use face masks & hand sanitizer. Lets all hope that this lockdown will allow the authorities to get on top of this outbreak!
20.01.2022 SPOT THE CHRISTMAS GNOMES
20.01.2022 Yesterday we announced the news that Dr Greg was hanging up his stethoscope at the end of this week. We also have another huge announcement- Dr Greg & his wife Viv have officially sold the practice. They are very happy the practice is being passed on to the very capable hands of Dr Zoe Adams & her husband Dan Dr Zoë grew up in the Adelaide Hills, and utilised Dr Greg for care of her horses. She always admired Meadows Veterinary Centre and held onto a desire to be involved wit...h the practice from a young age. After completing her Veterinary Degree at the University of Sydney in 2008, Zoë undertook an Equine Internship at Sharjah Equine Hospital in the United Arab Emirates. After completion, she spent 2 years working at Bakewell Veterinary Clinic, a mixed practice in Derbyshire (UK), as an Equine veterinarian and Small Animal Surgeon. As much as she loved the UK, the warmth of the Middle East drew her back and she was involved in the development of several practices in Dubai, with animals seen varying from horses, dogs and cats to lions, gibbons, and rhino! She has spent the last 4 and a half years in Kuwait, as the Clinical Director and Senior Veterinarian of Royal Animal Hospital. This facility provided the leading veterinary care for the country and had inpatient care for 75 animals. She thrives on hard work and challenges, and loves being a Veterinarian. She has special interests in surgery, wound management, and internal medicine. Dan grew up on the Sunshine Coast and has spent the last 15 years travelling the world, teaching English, PE, and taking amazing photographs. Dan has held administration roles at International schools in Japan and the Middle East, with his most recent role being Athletic Director for the largest International School in Kuwait, coordinating programs for the school, interschool, and international competitions. Since meeting Zoë, he has been able to indulge his love and fascination for animals and has spent time assisting Zoë in the clinic as well as developing an interest in primate rehabilitation, and now Australian native animal rehabilitation. Dan will be utilising his wealth of organizational and administrative skills, undertaking the role of Practice Manager. Zoë and Dan are both lovers of the outdoors, horse riding, snow sports, travel, and farm life. They are living in Meadows on a small property with their 2 elderly Kelpies, Zurich & Nara, their Border Collie pup Shogun and an ever-growing menagerie of chooks, sheep, possum, quail, and goats. Dr Greg, his wife Viv, as well as the whole team are extremely happy to have Dr Zoë and Dan continuing Meadows Veterinary Centre as a locally owned practice with provision of exceptional medical and surgical care for patients and a focus on communication, compassion, and community. They are excited to meet you all and your wonderful animals. See more
19.01.2022 Last year we upgraded our night lighting for our mare yards & thanks to local sparky Marc Tru we can turn night into day when checking the mares & foals or when helping a mare to foal! It has made a huge difference!
19.01.2022 To all our wonderful clients, friends & family we have a huge announcement! After 40 plus years of dedicated work as a veterinarian, with 34 of those years providing services to Meadows & surrounding districts, we are letting everyone know that Dr Greg Rodda is officially hanging up his stethoscope as of the end of this week! He would like to thank all of his clients for their loyal support over the years. While we are absolutely certain he will be missed by clients & animals alike we also have another huge & very exciting announcement to make that will ensure we will be continuing the legacy of compassionate, client focused veterinary care of the highest standard that Meadows Veterinary Centre is known for. - so stay tuned!
17.01.2022 Meet Hugo & Samantha who came in for a check up today and to see why Samantha had a sore belly. Both were very well behaved and we loved having lamby cuddles!
14.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone. Please remember to get all your orders in by the end of today for all our reptile friends.
13.01.2022 A lovely start to the day even though it was 2am! Another successful foaling down done resulting in a lovely strong healthy colt. Despite having done this for many years now we never get tired of seeing & helping new born foals arrive safely as well as seeing the results of the previous year's artificial insemination. Just love the breeding season!
13.01.2022 Yesterday we received quite a few phone calls from horse owners who agist their horses away from their home asking us if we knew if they would be allowed to travel to feed & care for them. This updated list of permitted activities says yes if no one else is there who can care for them! Stay safe everyone & please remember we are available to provide services necessary to ensure the health & welfare of our animals. Phone the clinic & speak with the nurses if you are not sure whether your animals need to be seen during this lock down.
11.01.2022 Due to a staff baby boom as well as increasing work load we are looking for someone to join our awesome team. Are there any fully qualified vet nurses looking for a position? Could be casual, part time or we would even consider full time for the right applicant. If you are fully qualified & would like to apply please send your resume to [email protected] or phone the clinic & ask to speak with Mel.

07.01.2022 The staff here at Meadows Vet Centre are so grateful to have clients like you all in our lives. The most valuable and magical Christmas present is love, kindness and compassion, the best part is you don’t even need Santa to get you that one. Show some love to everyone, including the animals who surround you this Christmas and New Year and don't forget yourself too. Smile and create many memories to last a life time.
06.01.2022 Just had this sent to us & way too good not to share!! How to correctly wear a mask!
03.01.2022 If you have forgotten your pet's Christmas present - fear not we still have a few gorgeous Christmas toys including cat chasing wands as well as fabulous treats! Feel free to pop in & take a look!
03.01.2022 Breeding season is certainly in full swing now! Once again at this time of year Dr Greg spends much of his time with his hand & arm up the back end of a mares scanning for follicles or pregnancies. We are very lucky that even after being involved in equine reproduction for 30years he still enjoys doing this! Foals that come in with their mums are always very interested to watch what he is doing - probably can't believe their eyes!
03.01.2022 As many horse owners know - we often spend a lot of money on building shelters to see our horses standing out in the rain!So nice to see these 2 mares here for breeding using & appreciating their shelters!
03.01.2022 Just a reminder to all of our wonderful clients about our opening times during Christmas. The Centre will be closed from 6pm tomorrow until 8 am Tuesday 29th December so please make sure you have enough medications, pet foods etc to last over the break. As usual we will have a vet on duty for emergencies. If you have an emergency situation please phone the Centre's number 83883455 & you will be diverted straight to the vet on duty. We would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!
02.01.2022 Nurse Sammy is doing a large order today - if you need something please let her know by 3pm today -the order will be delivered to us on Friday!
02.01.2022 We often go the extra mile to help our clients out but on the weekend was something we have never done before! We had a lovely little mare come to us for artificial insemination. Her owner was saying that she was wearing her lucky socks - 1 grey & 1 pink. When asked why she explained that she was hoping for a grey filly. SO at insemination time we wore 1 grey & 1 pink sock each just to keep the luck going! The only worry is our socks had polka dots all over them so we hope she doesn't end up with a spotty grey filly!
