31.01.2022 A busy afternoon yesterday 2 sets of twins, all bulls and all 4 by our homebred Brushy Mountain Baltimore Kris All calves born without assistance

25.01.2022 Mmmm I reckon I could almost eat this grass. Rye and clover for breakfast tomorrow. This has been the best season for grass growth, whilst we have not had oodles of rain we are getting small amounts regularly #multiminperformancereadychallenge#healthycows#oodlesofmilk#kickinggoals#guernseygirls

25.01.2022 Great day out at the Sydney Royal for Stuart Moore and the Meadowvale team

24.01.2022 Just an interesting observation as part of our #multiminperformancereadychallenge that we have had 6 cows calve since having their multi min at drying off and 4 calved early being 8,5,6 and 9 days early, 1 on due day and the other 3 days over. Will be watching with interst as the other cows calve.

23.01.2022 Something we dread is power outages Luckily we have a generator that runs from one of our tractors to help us out as the cows don’t like missing out on being milked

22.01.2022 Please check out all the entries in the Guernsey Cattle Society of Australia page virtual show and like your favourite entry

20.01.2022 Never know when we are going to show up

20.01.2022 Another update as we dried 7 more girls off. Here on our farm we dry cows off about every 3 weeks as they are due because of calving in 6 weeks or they are giv...ing less than 15 litres per day. As our herd is year round calving we have cows calving every week. The first ones that we did with Multi Min at dry off have calved and the calves are up and going early. I will post some photos next week. #meadowvaleguernseys#dorrigo#godscountry#multiminchallenge See more

19.01.2022 Nothing upsets a farmer more than feeding cattle through a drought and then you get a fabulous season and for no reason whatsoever you find a dry cow dead in the paddock. To make matters worse they were only moved yesterday and she was 100% healthy. 2 months off calving, life sucks

17.01.2022 Ok to see the sun would be nice for a few days. Has been a great last 3 months. May all our friends benefit from what has been falling from the sky. Let’s hope 2021 is back to what we all know as normal. Merry Christmas from Michael and I here in a wet and foggy Fernbrook.

16.01.2022 Checking out the heifers running with the bull. All showing in calf so looking forward to them calving down.

14.01.2022 The old girl Meadowvale Mentor Joyful is back in the springer paddock

12.01.2022 Very happy to get a win with Meadowvale Garrett Margarine. Yesterday she classified GP 83.

10.01.2022 Mother Meadowvale Garrett Qaint and daughter Meadowvale Jerome Qaint trying to come on together this morning. Quite a few similarities in those facial markings and attitude

09.01.2022 Michael and I were vaccinated about 20 years ago. If you work with animals go and get the jab it saves you from getting really sick and maybe not having an income for months

09.01.2022 So, do you think this will sell a few more bottles of Norco milk?

09.01.2022 2021 MANNING ALL BREEDS YOUTH CAMP & Heifer Show To be held @ Taree Showground January 2021 Tuesday 12th - Youth Camp... Wednesday 13th - Youth Camp Thursday 14th - Heifer Show See more

06.01.2022 MANNING SUB-BRANCH 2021 Dairy All Breeds Youth Camp STOP PRESS!!!!... The Organising Committee of the 2021 Dairy All Breeds Youth Camp regrets to inform you that due to a number of extenuating circumstances beyond our control, we have made the decision that the Youth Camp is being POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE. It is our genuine intention to reschedule a new date for the Camp, as soon as is practicable and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused. We are extremely disappointed that we have had to make this decision given the fantastic response from participants, as well as supporters and sponsors. Unfortunately, two major factors have influenced our decision. The first being the closure of interstate borders, which means that 5 out of 6 fabulous mentors would be unable to enter the state without facilitating an arduous 14-day quarantine on their return home. Some have been restricted by their employers to even enter NSW. Our aim and initiative in hosting the Youth Camp was to provide the participants access to the best mentors from within the many facets of our industry. To not have all of them available and able to share their knowledge is extremely disappointing but nonetheless the current situation we are faced with. We want to provide the participants with the best opportunities to be inspired, gain knowledge and create new networks for potential careers within not only the Dairy Industry, but Agriculture in general. Secondly, The Committee has also been faced with an extended weather event with the amount of rain that has been received in Taree during December 2020, continuing into January 2021. We have been approached by our Local Showground Society and inspected the state of the facilities, which have been inundated recently with localised flooding, now rendering the facility un-usable for our purposes. Many of the other local show grounds are not in a position to facilitate campers etc. As mentioned previously we intend on re-scheduling the event and now take the opportunity for you to advise us of your future intentions. There are number of options for you to choose, as follows. Please contact us with your decision so we can act promptly via email to [email protected] 0428 535 183 or [email protected] 0428 235 825. We intend to attend the rescheduled event, please retain our deposit or full payment. Please refund our deposit or full payment (Please forward account details with your reply) We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope that you have an opportunity to re-join us for our rescheduled event. Kindest regards The Committee, 2021 Manning Dairy All Breeds Youth Camp.
