25.01.2022 Bone reabsorption, fat pad and muscle atrophy as well as loss of collagen and elastin all contribute to the ageing process. Patients often present with a line or part of their face that bothers them and only want this treated. However, with so many factors contributing to that one line or area, direct treatment generally doesn’t produce the best outcomes. This is why a total face assessment is SO important. Band-aiding the problem will only lead to future issues. This is why I always recommend not isolating particular areas and stress the importance that prevention and maintenance is key!

23.01.2022 D R U G S it is important to always let me know when taking any form of medication This includes prescription, herbal and nutraceuticals! Although most wont stop you from having treatments, some have properties that can increase your likelihood of bruising and increase your recovery time. Others can alter the efficacy and longevity of your treatment.... Remember to avoid alcohol, NSAIDS and fish oil for a at least a week prior to any treatment

22.01.2022 R E F R E S H This lovely came to see me wanting a refresh and to look less tired. This appearance is typically reflected by peri orbital hollowing and deepening of the tear trough. Here small amounts of dermal filler was placed to gently smooth the area and correct the deficit.... The tear trough is notoriously a difficult area to treat. Not only is this a high risk procedure due to its proximity to important facial arteries but patient selection is vital. Factors such as skin integrity, fluid retention and even seasonal allergies must be considered. Product choice and correct placement of the filler is also essential. If placed incorrectly the active orbicularis oculi muscle can cause the filler to migrate. Care must also be taken not to overfill. Less is definitely more for this area! 13.01.2022 This beauty came to see me for a total face assessment and beautification. Ideally, the cheekbones or forehead are widest part of the face, tapering down to a narrower jaw. So here I injected a strong dermal filler placed on her zygoma to create contour and give the illusion of facial slimming. 10.01.2022 T E M P L E S As we age, we increasingly lose volume in our temples. There is loss of soft tissue, bone reabsorption and there are changes to the muscle and fascia. The loss of volume typically begins in your mid 20s with it becoming more obvious in your 40s, especially if the ageing process has been exacerbated by lifestyle factors.... This results in temple concavity or what I like to refer to as a peanut facial shape with a wide forehead, narrow temples and cheeks. Dermal filler to this area assists to not only soften the hollow and restore a more youthful appearance but as the buccal fat pad is connected to the temporal region it also elevates the tissue from the lower face! 08.01.2022 Product Spotlight | Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10. One of my favourites, this little beauty is my go to night cream. The super strength retinaldehyde is encapsulated to guard against irritation and ensures the product is absorbed deep into the dermal layer where it is needed most.... As Vitamin A is typically drying, hyaluronic acid and nourishing carrot seed oil is added to protect against dehydration. But like all anti ageing products, be patient for your results. It can take up to 4 weeks for the new, healthier cells to surface. What you will be left with however is reduced lines, pigmentation and beautiful hydrated skin.

Care must be taken to not over correct the lateral lip, creating an unnatural and unbalanced shape.... This lovely was concerned she invariably appeared tired no matter how much sleep she had! By restoring the volume loss to her malar fat pad with dermal filler (and a little to her lateral cheek for contouring ) we were able to avoid treating the notoriously unforgiving peri orbital region.... 05.01.2022 M Y T H S I regularly hear from patients preconceived ideas about our anti wrinkle toxins so I thought Id clear the air about a couple of the myths surrounding these treatments! Firstly, that you will be worse off for having the treatment if or when you decide to stop. The exact opposite is true! Your treated muscles will have lost some of their strength during the months of reduced activity, softening the dynamic and static lines that occur in that area.
