24.01.2022 I dont know if Australia follow the QMS system or not. This is a NZ doco. But if you wondered why fish stocks keep going backwards check this out. In NZ more good fish are dumoed at sea than the entire NZ reco fisho's catch in one year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIQNDYoymMU

11.01.2022 Face book keeps making it harder to do posts for the comp. Each time we get pics of fish we now have to screen shot, crop the pic ( all of them ), then save each individual picture. As if that wasn't enough, they in their wisdom have decide not to allow us to tick a box on each picture. You might notice Lukes last picture, i had to put his 2nd picture in the comments. ... So, with that in mind for those who send pics to us can you post them directly to the page please. We will still accept them in messages and sort them out if you cant post them. It used to be dead easy. We could open and save pics, add up the points n post em. It's a long winded effort now. And it looks a lot better with all the pics together. Dumb FB...if it aint broke....

11.01.2022 Me and Ol Mate We are moving shop. Not sure where yet but staying in Childers. Due to this we are running stocks low to save shifting it all. ... Linda is managing the move. Which I think will be in March. Any customers that need to contact us can message us through this page. It will be a busy and distracting time for us so a message would be more helpful than a phone call nearer to the time. Of course you can order straight through ebay as usual. Just a heads up guys. If you find it hard to contact us in the near future thats why. It shouldn't effect this page. Cheers Linda, John, Martin

10.01.2022 I've caught bigger fish. But this one is my favourite fishy capture. Heart in mouth runs from this fish. What's you favourite catch? Pop up a picture if you can. Be nice to see them.

05.01.2022 Fishing Comp Rules and guidelines 1. Fish measured from tip of nose to fork in tail. 2. Picture of you with your fish 3. Picture of fish on a brag mat or similar correct measure. ... 4. Picture of Weekly ID number next to fish on brag mat. 5. Points tallied when posting ie, bream 25cm 1 point. Whiting 23cm 1 point..total 2 points 6. Pictures to be post by 10am Monday. Weekly number ends at midnight. This extra time gives you time to post if on the water when the new number is posted. 7. Barra. Both Freshwater and Saltwater included. If, for some reason the comp is extended into the closed Barra season Freshwater Barra will be accepted. 8. Each fisho can only post 5 of each species per week. For example. 10 Bass per team per week..5 each partner. 9. Once you post 10 fish, with pic, ID number and tally. It sticks. If you have entered them and then catch a bigger fish we wont count it. 10. Catch 12 species ( as below). Gain points. Get one point for a legal size fish ( bream 25cm = 1 point ) and a point for each cm thereafter..ie Bream 26cm = 2 points. Estuary fish are mandatory. Then chose either 3 reef species or 3 freshwater species...you do not need both. If you enter a reefy we will take it that's your section. You cannot reverse it later to freshwater. Species ( 12 in total... 9 estuary then 3 from either reef or freshwater ) Bream..black and yellowfin Whiting..sand Whiting Threadfin Salmon..King Fingermark..Golden Snapper Mangrove Jack Cod..estuary Flathead Barra Grunter Reef section Snapper Grassies Coral Trout Freshwater section Toga Bass Yellowbelly Tips. 1 Catch the fish at the time of year when they're available to ensure you get your 12 species. 2. Upgrade. Posting fish as you catch them has it's drawback. You might catch a bigger fish later in the week. So dont post too early and miss out on points. 3. If they aren't biting, find point scorers. Points often decide the money placings. 4. Check out last years comp pictures to get a good idea of how to post your pics and info. Or ask us if in need of help. 5. Finally have some fun. Ask around you might find some comp guys willing to aim you in the right direction. Best of luck everyone. Disclaimer. By entering the comp you release the organisers of all responsibilty. Health and safety is up to you. We do not accept liabilty for accidents, injury, loss of equipment or life. Be safe on the water and always follow boating safety rules and guidelines. Please adhere to the Fisheries rules regarding recreational fishing. We support sustainable fishing as per the fisheries guidelines. Grab a feed and release a few.

05.01.2022 Comp. Bit of a change in the weather. The cooler water brought out the Whiting. Not the bigger models though. Grunter have popped up and a few Flathead. All we need now is the big Bream and it's a sign winter is here., and Snapper will grow in numbers. The catch this week had the above barring Snapper. ... Luke ( Luke and DJ) and Mandy ( Mandy n Linda) got into the Toga aswell. Some nice fish too. No new species this week. Just point building. Teams finding the fish this week. Team Binney with a decent 28 pointer Flathead. Team Biggles added a Bream. The Butchers added a few more Whiting Me & Ol Mate added a few Whiting n Bream. So, the ladder hasn't changed regards positions but there has been some steady points being made. Other stuff. Muddies are on the move. Prawns have been going strong in the Burnett too. Doing the rounds there seems to be a few blue Salmon getting about, around the port area. Grunter, Flounder, Flathead, Whiting, Bream all about. In the fresh Bass are fishing well in the dams. They will school up soon and hopefully the yellowbelly will come on.
