23.01.2022 Daily drop-in for comms folk: Communication professionals have a LOT to deal with this week. Taking a leaf out my IABC community colleagues, I'm offering a daily crisis comms support chat, debrief room, 'office hours' how to... Daily (APAC friendly time). I explain in a 2-minute video here. Or just register and drop-in.... https://zoom.us//regist/tJYrduGtqj0uPMYpS0gM5Jo85X7QJOr4qA

22.01.2022 There was some spare time at the end of today's coffee connect, so I have used it to record an impromptu quick guide to how the COMMS communication planning approach can be used at the moment for two different scenarios: communicating big change for a small/mid-size organisation, and planning for a team update (anyone). Experienced communication professionals will already be going through these five steps, but this can be helpful as a guide in these times: 00:00 - 02:55 - Wha...t is the COMMS approach? 02:55 - 06:30 - Walkthrough of COMMS for a big change 06:30 - 09:00 - Walkthrough of COMMS for planning a call or live stream 09:00 - 10:00 - Summary of things to think about 10:00: - 10:48 - How to contact me for more info. I didn't have a slide to hand, just used Zoom's whiteboard on the fly so I'll add the more detailed info in the comments below.

11.01.2022 This week is #IABC20, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)'s global gathering. This year, it's online for the first time, and based on an excellent experience at a recent screenwriting conference, here are a few tips to make the most of it as a delegate.

08.01.2022 This is a great version of this powerful story telling tool

08.01.2022 We continue to be living and working in unprecedented times. As part of the recent round of IABC Asia Pacific Region meetups during COVID-19, as well and in working with clients and colleagues here in Australia, in the region and globally, I am acutely aware of my fortune. As countries move through their national stages of pandemic response (and other significant challenges) I've listened to the stories and experiences of many other communication and change professionals. My ...personal belief is that it's not the right time to be making hard predictions on what is next, but instead am using a tool for considering what to keep and what to leave behind during transitions. It's a tool and exercise I have used in other settings, and I think it has significant potential for communicators to ask themselves and their organisations two simple questions as they move to whatever their 'next' is. 04.01.2022 What's the role of IABC in developing professional communicators globally? What should communicators just starting out be aware of? My thoughts via IABC Asia Pacific Region's interview with me. http://www.iabcapac.com//iabc-apac-member-at-large-profile/
