19.01.2022 Just cracked a dozen eggs into this week's cake and glanced up to see Penang (one of my Isa Brown chickens) looking at me through the screen door. It's possible that she had a look of horror on her face. :/
13.01.2022 I have to say that this cake required some extra help and I want to send a huge thankyou out to Faye Cahill Cake Design for her assistance following a somewhat audacious last minute request. Sometimes I get a design idea in my head that won't leave, and I usually listen to my instincts because they are usually right (lesson for life, people). The only problem was that this persistent, and intuitive idea came at the very last minute and left me with two alternativesignore it and hand over a cake that would have certainly looked lovely, and was exactly what the client asked for, or pay attention, go the extra mile and present something that I was as excited to give, as Nadia was to receivevoila!
07.01.2022 It's been a long time between cakes! The cafe business is flowing along nicely however not really leaving me much time for cakes these days. Having said that, I felt that I really wanted to do Emily's cake for herso pretty and feminine and, while it made for a long week and more than a few late nights, it was a pleasure to put this little pretty together.
07.01.2022 I've had such a lovely (although busy!) day today. I get a kick out of decorating cakes with an audience for some reason and have spent the afternoon playing with FROSTING for a friends' sons cake. Also delivered an absolutely gorgeous cake for a young woman celebrating her 30th tonight. WIll post photos later, but for now I'm looking for a chicken laksa with extra chilli and garlic to sort out a cold that is threatening.Looking forward to a quiet night in :)
02.01.2022 Hello friends. You may have noticed that things have been a little quiet on my page lately. There is a wonderful development in my life that will see me take a slight curve in my direction. At the end of the month I will be the very proud owner of Cafe Dusk in Tarrawanna (locals will know this wonderful little place). This does not mean that Mea Sculpture will cease operations, and in fact many more people will be able to taste my cakes through the cafe, however in order to give my all to this new venture, I will be taking bespoke cake orders in much smaller numbers, at least for the time being. I am very excited to take over the reigns from the current owners...they are a much loved institution in the area and I have some big shoes to fill...so if you are in the area pop in to say hello and enjoy a coffee.
