25.01.2022 BRAugust Day 24 - Beach or Pool - beach for preference but so long as there is water I’m happy. Already planning a Marie swimsuit as modelled in the photo for this summer. Pattern available via the shop link in profile @bonifebrianda Models @marykate.chester @sew_es @tannietong @floral.jungle Fabric @pitttrading #braugust2020

24.01.2022 Day 3 of Me Made May and I forgot to get a photo but I am currently underneath this me made quilt with this cute little fuzzball getting pats. Quilt is made with Liberty pieces won in the annual Christmas giveaway with @the_strawberry_thief and backed in another piece of Liberty from my stash. I am by no means a quilter but I do enjoy using up scraps to create quilts as it’s a wonderful way to reduce sewing waste and end up with something beautiful and useful at the same time.... * * * #mmm21 #memademay2021 #sewing #makersgonnamake #memadeeveryday #imakefashion #handmade #diyfashion #diywardrobe #handmadewardrobe #ilovesewing #isew #maker #makeyourownclothes #sewcialists #sewersgonnasew #sewingblogger #sewistsofinstagram #wearethemakers #imademyclothes #dressmaker #seamstress #slowfashion #makeyourown

22.01.2022 Day 3 of #sewcialsketch and it’s the very talented @juliancreates who has a stunning eye for colour and patterns. For the past few years during Me Made May I add an extra challenge to myself to do daily drawings showcasing the talent of the sewing community. You can find past years by searching the hashtag or checking out the pages dedicated to it on my website (link in profile). During late May 2020 the world saw huge numbers of people gather for the Black Lives Matter movem...ent. I honestly didn’t know how to best communicate my support of people everywhere for their bravery, resilience and hope they showed and continue to show on a daily basis in the face of overwhelming odds. I decided then, that Sewcial sketch in 2021 I would do my best to highlight the amazing Makers of Colour in the sewing community. My own small contribution to making representation in all aspects of life better represent those who participate. * * * #illustration #fashionillustration #iPadPro #ipadproart #drawing #drawinginspiration #applepencil #digitaldrawing #sketching #fashion #fashiondrawing #fashiondesign #fashiondesigner #sewcialsketch #sewcialist #sewingcommunity #wearethemakers #mmm2021 #mmmay2021 #memademay2021

21.01.2022 @sewing.bunny had fun making up the cami top in this lovely crushed velvet and despite some issues she had with the pattern and fitting I think she has ended up with a pretty top. Pattern available in shop via link in profile

19.01.2022 BRAugust Day 31 - by next BRAugust - this is my current bra drawer (my own makes and RTW), swipe to see how they are stored by type. My goal is to keep adding to it as well as to add matching knickers to my own makes especially for my wired bras. More sports bras is also on my list as it would be so nice to be able to replace that chunk of black in the top corner with some colour. I have an intro to lingerie sewing class coming soon @bobbinandink so all you Sydneysiders can come along and learn to make your own Thanks to all all the sponsors and huge thank you to @tailormadeshop for another fun month #braugust2020

18.01.2022 BRAugust Day 30 - mix n match - I recently got 2 lingerie kits from @pitttrading and this is the result of one of the kits, some tiny scoop shorts, 2 @sophie_hines bras and I made another pair of knickers which I don’t yet have a photo of. All not quite matching into making a perfect mix n match set! #braugust2020

18.01.2022 First thing in the morning, no makeup, hair not even brushed so naturally it’s time to take blog photos despite my fresh face and scruffy hair it’s my lovely new dressing gown which is star of the show. Read all about it on the blog (link in profile)

16.01.2022 BRAugust Day 25 - classic - what’s more classic than some polka dot knickers? Woven knickers are great in hot weather as they are cool, so perfect under a summer dress! These are the Georgiana knickers, pattern available via the shop, link in profile. #braugust2020

13.01.2022 BRAugust Day 27 - strappy or sporty - this is a close up of my wearable but oh my gosh how many changes did I have to make to get the pattern to work sports bra. It’s pretty and I can wear it but it’s not right. I was going to keep persisting with this pattern but I’ve realised I keep putting off working on it. That’s normally a pretty good sign I don’t want to do it. Will choose a new pattern and try again. Fabric from @pitttrading #braugust2020

13.01.2022 BRAugust Day 28 - fantasy project - I’ve recently reorganised my lingerie fabrics, finding that I have a lot of silk and a lot of lace. I’ve wanted to make a silk lace slip for ages, I’ve been gathering inspiration images and now I think it’s time to make a pattern and go for it! #braugust2020

12.01.2022 BRAugust Day 22 - Neutral - what is this neutral you speak of? It doesn’t appear in my lingerie that’s for sure Pattern is @orange_lingerie Lexington Bra Fabric and trims @pitttrading #braugust2020

12.01.2022 This top pattern of mine was recently printed as a paper pattern and included with @simplysewingmag I’ve seen a few popping up where people have made them and will be sharing as many as I can find with you all. Digital version of pattern available on my website, link in profile. Thanks so much to @simplysewingmag for including my pattern it was great fun to see it out with the magazine @bonifebrianda

10.01.2022 Why did I wait so long to make the glorious Mara bralet from @studiocosturashop ? It’s really wonderful, easy to put together, gives great shape and fit. Read all about it now on the blog (link in profile) Fabric and trims from @pitttrading

08.01.2022 BRAugust Day 29 - matching set - well they are both spotty my own pattern for the tiny scoop short knickers, top is an @ohhhlulu Jasmine with some extra straps. Fabric from @spotlightstores printed fold over from @pitttrading waistband elastic @prym.consumer #braugust2020

08.01.2022 Up on the blog, me taking a huge step forward and getting back on the bike. Also a waterproof saddle cover fabric from @nomuratailor

07.01.2022 This is quite possibly one of the makes I am most proud of. So many little bits I have been working to improve all came together to make this glorious bra. It’s the new Adrian pattern from @qofspatterns and while this is my first it will not be my last version as I adore it. Read all about it including my epic fail (and to be clear it was 100% my mistake not the mistake of the pattern) Fabric and trims from @pitttrading

05.01.2022 Ever wonder what to do with your scraps of athletic wear? Headbands are an awesome way to use up little bits, plus they are useful and make perfect gifts! I’ve used @thatwendyward Rutland Collection pdf to whip these ones up. More details on the blog

05.01.2022 A lovely golden version of my top pattern by @whatnaomisews she whipped up during a very productive sewing weekender at home weekend. Pattern available via the webstore, link in profile

04.01.2022 BRAugust Day 20 - embellishment - I’m not big with bows and trims as I tend to go with super pretty fabrics, then elastics that show it off as much as possible. I’m using what is in my stash so I have my non matching matching theory where if it looks all good together even if it’s not all the one colour then I go with it fabric and trims originally from @pitttrading #braugust2020

03.01.2022 BRAugust Day 21 - Colour blocking - prints, solids, ruffle trim, stripe elastic contrast strapping. It’s all going on in this @sophie_hines Euler. The trick is to make sure nothing over rules any other element, that way it all comes together and looks good and not a hot mess. Fabrics and trims @pitttrading #braugust2020

03.01.2022 Day 4 of Me Made May and once again I forgot to get a photo so here is a typical night of me reading with the cat on my lap. Dressing gown is self drafted and replaces the last one I had which only wore out due to frequent cat claw marks making holes in it Also I recently got glasses for reading and I’m still not used to either wearing them or seeing myself in photos wearing them.

03.01.2022 BRAugust Day 23 - throwback Thursday - when I started sewing blogging this was the second bra I made and put up on my blog. I’d sewn lingerie while studying at fashion college and had always wanted to get back to it. If you wanted to see my process of making my own pattern from an old RTW style take a look at the sewalong section of my website. All the details are there #braugust2020

02.01.2022 When your niece asks you to make her some sports crop tops you find the coolest prints in your stash and get making! Fabrics from @pitttrading pattern from @jalie_patterns More details on the blog
