25.01.2022 Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Don't give up on your old cylinder until you've considered repairing. This one from R.P. Motors Werribee South needed a new nut because the grub screw that they used to retain the nut had marked the thread. Therefore when the nut was removed it completely wrecked the thread.... Time to re-cut the damaged thread and make a new nut. Hopefully no more break downs now before Christmas. To all our customers and friends, have a good break and maybe get back to that project in the shed.

13.01.2022 Croquet Sticks Even for us, this was an unusual one! Jock required two Croquet sticks that functioned similar to existing designs but tailored to suit his height, his grip and the wooden head of the Mallet.... Now lets see if Jocks skills and our engineering can be a winner on the Croquet Lawn.

13.01.2022 Soft Jaws for Tyre Changing Machine These are the shiny Aluminium rims that you see on the trucks. Obviously the truck driver doesn't want any marks on his new wheels and so the Tyre Fitting Machine needs a plastic insert over the steel jaw. We used to mould these from Rigid Polyurethane. The white ones you can see on the machine are 3D printed.... The 3D printing has many advantages, in this case we have different material options that couldn't be processed in our existing moulds.

08.01.2022 Trochoid At the front you can see the tired old shaft with a worn out spline drive. We don't have the specialised equipment to cut splines but we can machine a Trochoid Drive. The Trochoid looks like a rounded triangle, it allows us to have a precision fit and a strong drive without needing a very detailed shape.
