25.01.2022 February already! It has been a busy few weeks since Margaret’s retirement and we hear that Margaret is enjoying life At Medea Park its business as usual, residents and staff settling into a new year. The changeable weather has limited some of the bus outing ideas but as always our Leisure and Lifestyle team make the very best of the options available. All the Medea Park staff are aiming every day to provide the best for our residents in this challenging time we are all f...acing with Covid and the restrictions it places on us all. We continue to monitor the Tasmanian Government Coronavirus page regularly, currently there are no changes to the visiting schedule, proof of flu vaccination, completion of the screening tool and awareness of travel restrictions. We appreciate your understanding in following the guidelines. We welcome a new face to our administration team Wytarna and we say good bye to Lisel, wishing her the very best for her future. While visiting Medea Park you may have had the opportunity to meet our visiting Health X RN team, these nurses are part of the Coronavirus work force. Given the workforce have not be required recently to assist with any outbreaks teams have been deployed to a number of pilot sites across Tasmania to assist as required on site. The deployment will cease on the 15th February 2021. Their support to the Medea Park team has been greatly appreciated. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Medea Park staff for their support in my role of Acting CEO. Take care and keep well. Kind regards, Deb Deborah Austen

24.01.2022 18th December 2020 Medea Park Residential Care All residents and families:... I am extremely sorry to inform you that, as a precaution, we have gone into voluntary lockdown until Monday. This is purely precautionary as it has been reported to us that there have been visitors from North Sydney (possibly the Northern Beaches where the current COVID-19 outbreak is occurring) and they have been in the local St Helens community for the last four days. There is no one with any symptoms, at this stage, but we feel this is the safest option currently. I do apologise for this inconvenience but I feel if we undertake this action in the short term we are looking to protect the residents in the near future. I will review all information on Monday and make a decision after that time. Therefore, I request that there are no visitors to the facility and that the residents remain within the facility, at this stage. Feel free to discuss this with any senior staff members for further information. Regards, Margaret Williams Chief Executive Officer

22.01.2022 Remembrance Day, residents enjoying a BBQ lunch.

21.01.2022 It is with some regret that I am leaving Medea Park. My last day today. I have decided to retire and start to enjoy our move to Tasmania. There was never a plan to work this long but I am glad that I made the decision to commence at Medea Park 2 years ago but what a ride it has been! I feel I have achieved all that I wanted to accomplish during this time. The home was in a very unstable, precarious state in the beginning and it has taken many tough decisions to get it back ...on track but it is now very financially stable and has a bright, positive future ahead. I would like to thank the staff, residents, families and the local community for their support over this period. Without all of you it may have been a very different outcome. I plan to stay in this area but we will be travelling quite extensively around the state in our motorhome that will finally be used for its intended purpose and not as my home away from home when I have been on call overnight at Medea Park. I wish the Medea Park family a safe and prosperous future. Stay safe and remain COVID-19 aware. Regards, Margaret Williams CEO See more

21.01.2022 COVID-19 Rollout Medea Park has received feedback from our peak body ACSA (Aged & Community Services) with feedback from the Department of Health for the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in Tasmania. As you may have already been made aware through local news outlets, medical teams have been deployed to Tasmania to commence vaccinations. These teams will be responsible for the management of the vaccine logistics for Medea Park. 14 Aged Care facilities have been included in the... first part of the roll out; these facilities are located in the North & Northwest of Tasmania. To date, Medea Park has not been contacted with a date for vaccinations to commence on site. In preparation to move forward in a timely manner for residents to receive a vaccination both our visiting GP’s have been asked to review their residents. Residents and family representatives who make decisions on behalf of their loved ones will receive a consent form and information fact sheet to make an informed decision before completing the consent form. I have been asked if the vaccination is compulsory, the answer is no. However, it is strongly recommended for residents and staff to receive the vaccination to reduce the seriousness of COVID-19 symptoms. For further information please visit the Australian Government Department of Health: https://www.health.gov.au//covid-19-vaccination-resource-p If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the facility on 0363 761 355 Deb Austen Acting CEO
