24.01.2022 MEDHACK: ENABLED HAS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!!!

23.01.2022 Want to get some inspirations about what assistive technology actually is??? Come down on the eve of MedHack (Thursday 2nd May) to Cinque Lire at Monash University to check out an interactive exhibition full of assistive technology!!!

21.01.2022 It has been a crazy wild ride starting up a year ago to where we are now. Before the year ends, we want to look back and summarize the achievements of our first year which we have surpassed all expectations anyone had about us. - We pulled together Australia's largest student run Medtech Hackathon; MedHack. - We ran our inaugural Medtech Symposium, again a first for a student team or organisation. - We grew from 0 to over 600 supporters on Facebook, to a community of over... 200, and a team nearing 30 people . - We created 6 project teams. 2 made it into MedTech's Got Talent - Australia's largest Medtech startup competition. 1 reached the Semi Finals, 1 won The People's Choice 3 times in all rounds and took home a total of $11k. - We raised close to $200k this year in funding, which led us to create 18 scholarships for students to learn what it means to do innovation in healthcare. We have also moved onto becoming a Monash Team and are aiming to make a change in the culture of teams and how they are run. Our team has been formed with this idea in mind. - Out of all the engineering teams, we are the most diverse in terms of background and discipline. - We've managed to shift mindsets surrounding student organisations and what is possible - starting from within Engineering, there is greater flexibility than ever before for students to work on what they care deeply about. - We've slowly made inroads into understanding what the culture of healthcare looks like, and how we might contribute to a more human centered system. - We've shown humility. We've taken hard looks at what we've been doing and we've killed projects and initiatives that didn't achieve the impact we wanted to see. We've had the courage to shake things up internally and keep trying to be better. So what's next? 2020 We are moving onto bigger movements to shake the ground around us. We are taking that next step into the world, opening up opportunities for everyone. It has been a pleasure to share with you, our community everything we have done and are hoping to achieve. Thank you to every single person that has spoken to us, heard about us, come to our events or even said our name. We will forever be grateful for the support we get. The MedTech Trivia Night will challenge you on your knowledge of all things medical technology, from pop-culture to CRISPR. Think you know a lot about medical technology? Maybe you do, but with a field so vast our question-writers are bound to pull one over you. But prove us wrong. Winners will be showered with prizes!... 05.01.2022 Today marked the first day of our Summer Innovation Healthcare Scholarships! These eighteen students will be working on projects sourced from clinicians across ...hospitals associated to Monash during the next 12 weeks, as they try to address these problems and come up with potential technical solutions that will have a direct impact in healthcare. Big thank you to Monash Institute of Medical Engineering and Monash Partners for their support. 04.01.2022 MedHack has been months in the working and now it is over. With bittersweet emotions we are equally glad and sad that it is over. This baby, created by the first team from MedHack was given to us and was raised to be a strong, working and effective project. We are so grateful for the participants that signed up to this Hackathon without a clue of what was going to happen and what to expect. You guys made this Hackathon what it was. To the sponsors and partners who believed ...in us from the beginning. We hope we met all your expectations. To the co-designers, who without them this would not have existed. Thank you for your time and sharing something so personal with hundreds of strangers in hopes that they can co-create a better future for everyone. The mentors that gave their time and expertise to guide us down the correct path. Who shared their knowledge from personal working experience to give us the insight that we do not have. To the judges for giving up their time and so critically judging the creations that came out of this event. To the volunteers who made this exist. Who gave up their time to run this event and made sure everything was run to the best of their abilities even though it was a first time event. You guys were superheroes.
