25.01.2022 looks like some of us may have some time on our hands over the next weeks or months. Watching our Prime Minister on TV tonight, it seems the Government is looking to provide some relief to sole traders and SME's. On face value, that's promising. Hopefully by being prudent we can see this though. We cannot be complacent however. We can't simply take handouts or loans and be idle. We all need to be aware we need to spend idle time fine tuning our business so when the brakes and restrictions are released we are primed and ready to go like a 100m sprinter on the blocks, not like a polar bear; yawning after a period of hibernation. With this in mind, over the next days and weeks we at Mediaglue will be posting hints and tips about things to do so your business is cocked and loaded for when this BS is over...

25.01.2022 What an amazing few weeks we've had. I have been really impressed by the number of clients who have continued to advertise and who are picking up new business enquiries and new customers. Throughout this trying period, even if you are unable to trade today, it is still important you advertise because advertising brings in enquiries. Without enquiries, you can't make sales; and while you may not be able to fulfil them today, you would never be able to make the sale if they ha...dn't contacted you. Far better to have the person's name in your follow up list than have them on your competitors lists. This phase is temporary; restrictions will lift and when they do, you need to be ready as there is latent, unfulfilled demand everywhere. People's spending habits will change as their options will be more limited so if you're not advertising at all, now is the time to get campaigns established, to start building a new prospect list so you're in the mix when the time comes.

25.01.2022 5 Common Google Ads Mistakes which are you making? These are the most common mistakes made by people managing their own Google Advertising accounts. Fix these and you’ll improve your results. Mistake 1: Bundling heaps of unrelated keywords into AdGroups.... An AdGroup is supposed to contain related keywords. As an example, all these keywords are relevant to plumbing: plumber, plumber near me, local plumber, plumber (location), blocked drain, leaking tap, pre-purchase plumbing inspection, leaking gutter, faulty hot water, drain camera. Yet when placed in the same AdGroup, and with an advert which is not topic specific, the chances of a customer seeing your advert as relevant to their problem and clicking on it are slim. If you have a faulty hot water system, you are more likely to click an advert with a headline saying Faulty Hot Water Systems Fixed. If you are seeking a pre-purchase plumbing inspection, you’re not going to click that advert. Solution: Bundle related keywords into single topic AdGroups and write adverts relevant to the topic.

22.01.2022 It's now roughly 4 weeks since we went into lockdown and despite our PM warning us it might be 6 months, its clear things are beginning to move; restrictions are being lifted, new cases are reducing. It seems business owners have fallen into one of three categories: 1. Let's get on with things like nothing has happened... 2. OMG, this is dreadful, what will happen to us, see if we are entitled to any help; wait for approval and instructions from authorities before doing anything. 3. Take a breather, regroup, "pivot" and be ready to go again asap. We know which of our clients fall into category 1 and well done all of you!! If you're in category 2 and your business is totally dependent on bureaucratic confirmation to relaunch, we'll be here for you as soon as you let us know to push the button again and launch your ads. If you're in category 3; NOW is the time for us to be having a serious discussion about precisely what to do next to be in the market with new offerings, new packaging and push the button so the market knows you're there. You don't have to be a client; just get in touch and book a chat; better still, use this link and book online: https://mediaglue.com.au/book-consultation/

21.01.2022 Feeling really honoured!

20.01.2022 I get really inspired when positive minded clients call up and want to increase their advertising reach. Today the amazing powerhouse behind Coastal Asbestos; the one and only Jason Spaull called with that in mind. He won't mind me quoting him when he said "I want to be the last man standing when this is over, I'm not losing my Google spot to anyone". There's little wonder Jason's business has grown from being a one man and his wife business to the thriving enterprise it is today. Hats off to you Jason for your positive attitude. You should bottle it and sell it!!

19.01.2022 On Feb 12, we took over an account which had been run by another agency. These are interesting stats: Between January 13 and 31, the account generated 15 sales leads at an average cost of $184. Spend for the month was $2,760. Between Feb 1 and Feb 13, it generated 18 leads at $158 for a spend of $2,751.... We made one major change on Feb 13. Between Feb 14 and Feb 25, it generated 14 leads at an average cost of $34.87 for a total spend of $482. Projections based on these numbers over a 30-day period suggest the account should be generating 30 leads per month for a spend of about $1,100. Net result: around the same number of leads per month with cost per lead down from $166 to $35. That’s an 80% reduction in cost per lead. How much could we save you? If you have a Google Ads account and would like to know how much better it could perform for you, reach out by calling us on 1300 884 757.

18.01.2022 If you would like to join us by being a guest at this online meeting this week and hear some great tips from these two dynamic lawyers, please let me know. You can tune in from anywhere, even UK if you want!

18.01.2022 Hi, I'm doing a presentation about Google Ads this week and wonder what question or questions you would like to have answered about this amazing media please? Thanks

17.01.2022 Would you like a 27% increase in sales? I love hearing good news stories from clients. Visited a client in Southport during the week, we have been running their ads for about 12 months now. They reported a 27% increase in sales in February 2020 against February 2019, all from Google ads. If this appeals to you, let's talk.

17.01.2022 Really excited!! Four new clients this week, all looking to take assertive action to gain market share, two clients who have doubled their ad spend for the same reason and three who have called for strategy sessions and gone away to implement. Oh, and one who had a brilliant idea how to repackage his offer; we wrote new ads for his which have clicked as high as 33% where around 5% was his average. There is always opportunity...

15.01.2022 So we now have some timelines to work to for planning new advertising campaigns with pretty much everything returning to a "new normal" in July. This gives us exactly two months to review your website, get a new one built if necessary and get your Google Ads ready to roll (if they aren't now). A two month countdown to strategize how to beat your competition and grow (or regrow) your business.... Here's the first step in the process; thanks to my friend Pip Meecham, here's a neat tool to get things started; a short video series on how to correctly set up your Google Business page. Doing this will greatly assist the effectiveness of your Google Ads. This program was already very well priced, Pip has kindly given friends of Mediaglue an even better deal you can only get via the link below. Please feel welcome to share this. https://projectbox.com.au/media-glue

13.01.2022 We took over a campaign from a client who had been using another agency who he dismissed and then relied on Google for support. Click through rate prior to our rebuild was 5.96%, it's now 28.57% and way more accurately target to their potential clients. I love this kind of result, how about we look to see if we can do this for you?

11.01.2022 So here we go with today's tip about keeping your business current. Ask yourself and your staff what options you have around how you work and how you deliver your service; what has to change, what could change and what can't change. Get to work on what can change today.

11.01.2022 This is exactly the right message! The reason Google Advertising is called "pay per click" is because you only pay when someone clicks your advert. If your advert isn't running and your competitor's advert is, guess who will get the enquiry. If you're not able to provide service right now, ask us how to keep your brand alive with a low-cost Display and Remarketing campaign.

08.01.2022 5 Common Google Ads Mistakes - which are you making? Mistake 2: Not assembling a negative keyword list. Any word contained in a customer search which cannot result in an enquiry should be added to your negative keyword list.... Again, using plumbing as an example, these words should in your negative list: job, jobs, apprenticeship, images, parts, handbook, suppliers. Here are some examples of how these words are used in searches: plumbing jobs near me, images of drain cameras, hot water system handbook. Every click costs your money, having a substantial list of negative keywords will both save you money and generate more enquiries. Say your average cost per click is $5, and your daily budget is $20, you can only get four clicks per day. If two of those clicks come from searches which should have been identified s negative keywords, your campaign is wasting 50% of its budget. Solution: Research and build a robust negative keyword list. Want to know more about how we can help you with Google ads? Book a call with us here: https://mediaglue.setmore.com/

08.01.2022 Here's a serious question for you: When the going gets tough, those who survive do so because they stayed in the battle. They spend money in their local community, they stay upbeat, they ignore negative people and negative media. ... Above all, they keep on advertising and marketing because they want the world to know they are still here. open for business and providing services. They also know that by advertising, they will have prospects for when the insanity is over. Where will you be when this all calms down - which it will. Left by the wayside or still standing?

07.01.2022 Covid-19 and Google: update FYI. Google have made it clear in a recent announcement they will not permit any keywords or adverts around this topic. Their reasoning being the topic's sensitivity and their stated intent is to stop any attempt at profiteering from sales of anything relating to Covid-19 or coronavirus. We therefore cannot accept any request from anyone looking to directly promote to this market. However, in saying that, we have found a workaround... Talk with us about that instead.

07.01.2022 It's becoming very evident we are very rapidly moving to an online world where platforms like Facebook will replace the chats we had while waiting for kids at school, while watching kids sport, over coffee or drinks with friends. We are seeing massive changes in the way people search, some clients seeing massive upsurges while others in decline. While you really don't have much control over what Facebook does, while you can't really control how Google indexes your website, ...there are two things you can control. One is your website's look, feel and content, the other is your Google advertising. With this in mind, over the next few days I will be sharing a series of pointers to help you review your website and work out what to do to make sure it does its job - which is simply to have the visitor engage with you. I've been around this game for 20 years now, my companies have built hundreds of websites and run hundreds of successful advertising campaigns delivering quality traffic to those, and other, sites. Truthfully, the main reason advertising campaigns don't work isn't through lack of traffic. It's because the website wasn't designed for paid traffic. make sure you watch this space over the next few days as I discuss what to check on your website. Please let me know what questions you have and I'll answer them for you.

05.01.2022 5 Common Google Ads Mistakes - which are you making? Mistake 3: Taking all your traffic to the home page. Let’s use a general practice law firm for this example.... Your services list includes traffic offences, conveyancing, commercial, wills, and family law. Someone seeking help to avoid losing their license due to an accumulation of points wants to click to a page explaining to them how your firm will plead their case and reduce the pain. Similarly, someone seeking a child custody order wants to go to a page explain parental rights and how can help. Neither are interested in conveyancing or commercial matters so taking them to the Home page and expecting them to find the correct page marks you down in Google’s eyes and the will promote any competitive ad which takes visitors to a more appropriate internal page. Ideally, each service should have its own separate page. Want to talk about your Google Ads and how we can help: Book a call now: https://mediaglue.setmore.com/

01.01.2022 Here's another example of creative thinking which came about from a recent consult. Kelly runs a business selling OH&S templates online. I suggested a new template covering OH&S for employers with staff working from home. inside 48 hours this new product was created; it's a template for those employers including work from home risk assessments. Check it out; better still, buy it and share with fellow business owners. https://www.ohscompliancesolutions.com.au//work-from-home/
