22.01.2022 New carpet. Gotta enjoy the little things

11.01.2022 With lots of shut-downs, cancellations and other assorted preventative measures being taken in regard to the world's current health challenge, I just want to sa...y some things to the guitar community. 1. If you're a musician losing gigs or a teacher losing students, try to leverage the situation. Write your first e-Book, figure out how online teaching works, invest in your marketing skills, build your brand while you're sidelined for a bit. Sign up at gumroad and start selling your knowledge. You're gonna take a hit in the short term, but you need to be in a position of power when things bounce back (and they will). 2. If you're taking guitar lessons, don't bail out on your teacher. Keep paying them. Work something else out. Do Skype / Google hangout / correspondence lessons. You'll need a guitar teacher when things bounce back (and they will) so don't take an "every man for himself attitude". If you're still taking lessons, pay as far ahead as you can. If you get sick, DO NOT ATTEND your lessons. 3. If your teacher or fave musician has other ways you can support them, do that too. Buy their music, their online courses etc. 4. Don't share guitar picks! Like, ever, even when this thing is over. In fact, disinfect the ones you have right now. Don't touch your mouth when you practice and don't put picks in your mouth! What other things can you recommend to the musos (and the people they rely upon) out there?

10.01.2022 Cleaning shelves and came across this concert program from the WAAPA days

09.01.2022 Real talk: comfort zone edition. Symptoms: "It worked when I played it at home".... "It sounded good through MY amp". "I can't play it when YOU are watching". Aim: To develop something that is not so fragile that it can only be achieved in highly controlled environments. Method: If you can only do something at home, can only do it when you are sitting down, can only do it through your own amp etc, then you haven't nailed it. But the good news is you have found one circumstance in which it does work, on which you can build. Many more repetitions need to occur, but not only in the exact way you are comfortable. The only way to get better at doing things in different circumstances is to expose yourself to different circumstances. Play it on acoustic, play it on a different electric, on different amp settings. Practice in different rooms of the house, practice standing up and sitting down. Play it with a different guitar pick. Yes, there are always going to be optimum circumstances in which we all play things and feel more comfortable, but you never want to remain in a position where something is either a complete success or a complete flop based on something as silly as who is watching. I assure you, the better you get at something, the less you will obsess about the little details as if your entire playing depends upon them. Growth occurs outside the comfort zone, so expose yourself to discomfort, then strategize your way out of it. You don't get to the new level without a new devil. 07.01.2022 So this page isn’t used much. I thought maybe I’d begin posting a piece/performance/guitarist/composer each day. We can discuss if anyone wants... or just take a few minutes out to sit down and enjoy. And hopefully folks will discover new repertoire and even better support the guitar community and buy sheet music, recordings or just head over and leave a lovely comment on the given YouTube link. ... Day 1. Chrystian Dozza - Etude No.1 performed by Aleksandr Tsiboulski, guitarist
