22.01.2022 2020 was the year of numbers. Never has the world been more fixated with figures, eagerly awaiting the latest update on COVID-19 infections, US Election outcomes and bushfire status reports. But how useful is data if it isn’t interpreted correctly? In our latest blog post, we discuss strategies to help clients make the most of their data and number sets. 20.01.2022 We're really proud to announce the launch of Resolve, our content agency. Resolve is an important part of the evolution of our business and, more importantly, brings different thinking and real value to the clients we work with. With very few Australian owned, independent agencies that are truly able to bring Research, Media, Creative Content and Community Management together under one roof we felt that this was worth crowing about. ... 18.01.2022 Don't ever doubt the audience penetration of Catch Up TV (or BVOD as it is known in the industry). Roy Morgan's latest figures shows that 8.6 million Australians now watch Broadcast Video on Demand (BVOD) services which include ABC iView, SBS On Demand, 7plus, 9Now and 10 Play. Lee Davis, Media Precinct's head of performance trading, says "Catch Up TV (BVOD) consumption in Australia has been on the rise for the past few years but growth has really accelerated off the back of... the pandemic. The shift in viewing behaviour from linear TV to on-demand platforms throughout this period has been significant and there are clear signs that users are embracing change and aren't looking back." 18.01.2022 According to Wikipedia, social influence comprises the ways in which individuals change their behaviour to meet the demands of a social environment. It takes many forms and can be seen in conformity, socialisation, peer pressure, obedience, leadership, persuasion, sales, and marketing. What better way to kick off a Pending Approval discussion than bring in political advertising guru Stuart Gillies, Managing Director of one of the country's most politically influential advert...ising agencies, Campaign Edge. Join The Media Precinct Glenda Wynyard and Producer G as we discuss the art of persuasion and influence. 11.01.2022 Most strategy is, to some level, interacting with or understanding people and their motivations. Strategists are instinctive by nature and are responsible for finding the most effective way to use a current set of resources. Creative strategists are the focus of the latest Pending Approval podcast, our last for 2020. Waqas Tahir leads strategy in the in-culture agency LOUD and Glenda Wynyard talks to him about his role. He is the guy that gets to tell the creatives what to m...ake, what insight to use and why. And it wouldn't be the final podcast of the year without discussing the odd Christmas ad. Particularly when a terrific Christmas campaign for Sainsbury's has been marred by racist backlash. #podcast #advertising #mediaagency #PendingApproval
