20.01.2022 A little bit about Stella who has been living at Parkdale Aged Care for the last 9 years. Stella worked in a dress makers shop for many years in Bendigo, she had a passion for materials and clothing and was very talented and highly regarded in the profession. Stella said she had a good eye for what looked tasteful and classic. I would love to talk to anyone about dressmaking" so it's no surprise that Stella’s favourite time in the social calendar was the Spring Racing Carniv...al in November especially Oaks Day. She loved looking at everyone’s amazing hats, fascinators and the fashions on the field! Stellas favourite food is a meat pie and her love of dancing in her younger years was also a big part of her life especially on a Saturday night. Medical & Aged Care Group along with the staff who love and care for you, hope you had a Happy 104th Birthday, truly an amazing achievement

15.01.2022 MARIC JEGGO GILBERT Maric (Max) Gilbert turns 100 tomorrow. Max was born in St Kilda, Victoria on 24 April 1921 and now lives at Boronia. In June 1940, Max enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force. He trained in Trawool, Victoria and served with 2/21st Infantry Battalion in Australia before being sent to Ambon, Indonesia. He spent over three and a half years there and most of that time was as a Prisoner of War. When the war was over, Max just wanted to return home, get marr...ied and have a family. In his spare time he built the family home which took him two and a half years. He returned to his pre-war job with the State Electricity Commission and worked in Stores. He was also a community radio presenter and scout master for many years. Max has only one word for the secret to his long life walking. He always led a healthy lifestyle and likes to follow an exercise routine. Max also enjoys listening to classical music. Happy Birthday Max from all at MACG and thank you for your service. #TYFYS #OurVeterans See more
