07.01.2022 It is an indescribable feeling when someone calls and says, "Thank you for saving my life." This particular gentleman had no symptoms, just one very important little sign. The little yellow spot on this retinal photograph is a Hollenhorst plaque. It indicates a risk of a heart attack or stroke, so he was sent for further testing where it was revealed that one carotid artery was more than 85% blocked. The beauty of being a little independent optometry practice is that we have the benefit of time; to connect, to examine, to care. Yes, we love providing you with gorgeous glasses, but this is a whole different level of satisfaction. So thankful this lovely man listened to the advice given, and he is now in the safe hands of a cardiac surgeon. Wow
