25.01.2022 It's harder to learn swimming as an adult compared to when we were kids. As an adult onset swimmer, we're mostly faced with frustrations as to when will we able to get to swim without struggling or swim faster in a Triathlon race. Take it from one of our students, Von Katindoy, an adult onset swimmer Triathlete. After going through several swim instructions, he finally found confidence in swimming again by learning Total Immersion Swimming from MediSwim. Read his blog to learn more about the struggles and smalls wins that we, adult onset swimmers, go through!

21.01.2022 Should you be lifting your elbow in your recovery phase in freestyle? . does it cause you pain when you do it? does it restricts your movements in freestyle? does it feel clunky? No? Maybe not yet...... . If your answer is Yes, that's your body telling you that the movement pattern is incorrect and that could set you up for shoulder injuries sooner or later. Who wants to spend time rehabbing your shoulders with your local physical therapist hey? Definitely not me! . Choice is yours #totalimmersionswimming #totalimmersionPH #shoulderimpingement See more

01.01.2022 To those of you who are waiting for the answer from our previous post if there's really a "RIGHT" way to pull in freestyle, here goes our take -- . General rule of thumb . if you have a solid kick, good body rotation and great shoulder flexibility then use EVF ... if you have a weak kick, minimal rotation , and less shoulder flexibility then use a straight arm pull. . Swim distance rule of thumb shorter races - use a straight arm pull due to the fact that it generates more propulsion than EVF. longer races - use an EVF. . At the end of the day, it all comes down to your physiology and flexibility. Do what works for you as long as you have an efficient catch and pull whether it's EVF or straight arm pull then it doesn't really matter right? After all, it's all about being efficient and being able to swim fast in the pool and in the open water right? .
