01.01.2022 Hands in the air, say yeah!! Happy Monday to all Posted @withregram @mr.finncredible Finny got a gait trainer! This new equipment gives him the support he needs to learn how to take steps! And he is! People with Down syndrome have hypotonia which means low muscle tone. This means Finn's muscles are all floppy so he benefits from extra support from his orthotics and this new gait trainer. His hypotonia is also what causes him to have sleep apnea since it makes his airway...s floppy. I think it will be just weeks before this boy is taking off! Go, Finny, go! (And I spy with my little eye a photo-bombing Leonie!) [Image description: A toddler with tan skin, dark curly hair and brown eyes stands with the support of a gait trainer inside his home. He has Down syndrome. He is wearing a navy romper and navy tennis shoes.]
