22.01.2022 We are pleased to announce Professor Ingrid Scheffer as our President Elect. She will formally take up the role of President at our AGM in October 2019, when Professor Ian Frazer steps down. Professor Scheffer will be the Academys second President and first female President. We have also elected two new Council members: Professor David Mackey and Professor Terry Nolan, meaning gender representation to our Council is now an even 50/50 split. https://lnkd.in/gpmS4Zm

14.01.2022 AAHMS welcomes the move towards immediate open access publishing, but it’s important that this is done in a way that doesn’t negatively impact researchers by burdening them with additional costs. In our submission, we have proposed that the NHMRC establish a dedicated fund to support publishing costs, provide clarity around key definitions, and monitor the impacts of any policy changes on the research community.
