21.01.2022 Hello friends and customers of Mee Sing During these unusual times we have been adapting and looking for ways we can best service our valuable and much appreciated customers. We have been looking at various companies to home deliver our food to you should you not be able to come out and pick up a takeaway. We have looked at most of them and they all have similar charges, and so we thought we’d give EasiEats a try. ... Should you decide to have a delivery you will notice that our menu on their app is a bit more expensive than if you came in and picked up your own takeaway. So here’s the thing- - Our takeaway menu costs remain the SAME as it currently is should you come in to pick up your food. - If you chose to have a home delivery via EasiEats Canberra, the menu via the app is more expensive than if you came in. We are trialling this service out and hope that it will accommodate those of you who can’t get out to pick up their Mee Sing fix. Please let us now your thoughts. We are trying to adapt to these new circumstances and hope that this service is of a benefit to you. We look forward to seeing you next time you come in. Stay safe, stay healthy, and look after each other. Best Regards, The Mee Sing Family

21.01.2022 Happy Birthday to our dear beloved Sharon. We miss you more today than ever...

18.01.2022 Sadly we have been targeted by a person making unsubstantiated claims against our family restaurant in a bid to get a free meal. If you hear on any social platform making claims against us, please let us know as this is now a matter for the police. Thank you friends. It’s really upsetting that our little place is seen as an easy target by some of our less desirable community members.

17.01.2022 Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that we are closing for lunch for a few weeks as Sharon has been sick and was in hospital. Good news is she’s on the mend but needs a rest. We are still open for dinner Tue-Sun as normal. See you for dinner!!

15.01.2022 Hope you all had a safe and Happy Easter!! Just to remind you all that we are open for dinner tonight as usual at 5pm!! Hope to see you all (from a distance ) sometime this week!! Have a great Tuesday!!

14.01.2022 Hello to our dear friends and customers. We have been getting many enquiries about when we will start having people dining in again. Problem is we can’t yet. The reason is mainly around the distancing. We are allowed 1 patron per 4 square meters, which means we can only have 9 people in the shop at any given time. That doesn’t include the staff or the people waiting or popping in for a takeaway. We know how disappointing this is to many of you, and we sincerely apologise as ...we hate letting you down... Your health and safety, as well as our own will always be our main priority. The other new thing is that under the Chief Health Officer’s Public Health Direction, businesses have been asked to request and record date, time, first names and contact details for those who come into the shop. - These details are securely held for 28 days by us and then securely destroyed. - We are not required to verify this information. - This direction includes those under 18 years of age. - The purpose of collecting this information is to assist authorities in tracing infections of COVID-19 if they occur. - Information will not be disclosed to any other entities unless required by law. We appreciate your understanding during these times. We especially appreciate your support. It has meant the world to us and has helped us keep our doors open. For that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

13.01.2022 Hello dear friends and loyal customers of the Mee Sing Family! Looks like we can now fill our little place up with friends and laughter again with COVID restrictions easing enough to have diners in again. Takeaway is still on for those of us who have come to appreciate the serenity of a good takeaway infront of the TV! We will be opening again for dining in from this Friday the 18th of September. Just a couple of small changes. We will be changing the hours slightly due to ...family reasons. We will be open for dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm to 9pm with the last dinner seating at 8pm. We also will be trialling closing the first Sunday of each month starting on Sunday the 4th of October. Lastly can we please once again say thank you to you all for all your kindness, support, loyalty and friendship over the past months and years (55 years for some of you!). The last 2 years has been a hell of a time and Mee Sing still manages to be here thanks to you all. For that we are grateful. Much Love

13.01.2022 We will be closed this Sunday the 8th of March. We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be open again for dinner as usual on Tuesday the 10th of March. Thank you for your understanding. Have a safe and good long weekend friends!

12.01.2022 Garlic Prawns anyone?? Now we don’t want to be biased..... but if you’ve had them you will know how delicious they are! Plus there are the obvious health benefits of the garlic!! Known to ward off colds, unwanted amorous attentions, and, of course, Vampires!!

11.01.2022 The Mee Sing Family wishes a Happy Chinese New Year to all our dear friends and customers! Wishing you the best of health and good fortune for the Year of the Rat! We also would like to let you know that we will be closed on Sunday 25 Jan and Monday 26 Jan 2020. We apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you soon!

11.01.2022 Happy 50th Birthday to us!!!!

10.01.2022 Hello to all our dear friends and loyal Customers. As you all no doubt are aware, some of the restrictions are easing up in the ACT. They are now allowing seating in restaurants for up to 10 people at one time. This is still a problem for us as we are only a small restaurant with not a lot of space. We have had a really long look at it and we think that with the social distancing rule of one person per 4 square metres, we really can’t do it. ... You are all our friends and your health and safety is our main priority. We believe we really need to remain vigilant and not become complacent as this thing spreads so easily. We know that so many of you want to get back to eating in with your family and friends... we miss hearing the laughter as well!! For now though, we thinks it’s best that we continue to only provide Takeaway (and home delivery via Easi eats). We continually appreciate you all and your support. It humbles us, and we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Stay safe. Stay Healthy.

05.01.2022 This Sunday marks the first anniversary of the very sad passing of our beloved and dear Sharon. It has been a difficult year for us all, especially her little Ava, who continues to make Sharon so proud. We will be closing this Sunday the 22nd of March 2020, Sharon’s anniversary, and will be open again as usual for dinner on Wednesday the 25th of March 2020 for dinner. We do apologise for the inconvenience, especially at this time when we all need some of the familiarity and... comfort that Mee Sing gives to our friends, customers and customers who have become friends. We also would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued loyalty, support, and friendship. We appreciate it more than any of you will ever know. Please stay safe, and take care of each other.

02.01.2022 Hello friends and customers of Mee Sing. In these unprecedented times Mee Sing, like all other restaurants is required to adapt quickly to the rapidly changing environment. Our main priorities are for the health and well-being of our staff, our customers , our friends and families. In saying all that, Mee Sing is actively taking extra precautions to minimise the risk of Coronavirus transmission.... Mee Sing has always had rigorous health and hygiene practices at our restaurant and we have implemented additional precautionary measures to ensure the environment is safe for both you and us. As of today, Saturday 21 March 2020, we will only be doing take away orders. Sadly, dining in will not be possible until further notice. Take away orders will be handed to you by staff wearing disposable gloves. For those of you who do not want to come into the shop, if payment at time of ordering is made over the phone via debit or credit card we will be more than happy to run the order out to your car. We are currently looking at delivery options and will advise as soon as we have a solution. The Mee Sing family will keep you updated. Never in the 55 years that Mee Sing has been opened have we seen anything like this. Please be assured that we are taking the current situation very seriously and will ensure that all precautions are being taken to protect us all. As we are a family owned small business needless to say like all other businesses, we are concerned. We are know that as a community we need to stick together and support each other like we did during the bushfires. With COVID- 19 it’s even more imperative. As a small business and as part of our community we are committed to supporting our local businesses wherever we can. Please stay safe and look after yourselves. We hope to be hearing from you all soon. The Mee Sing Family

01.01.2022 Hello friends of Mee Sing. Just a reminder that we are open tonight from 5pm for Take Aways. If you would like us to run it out to your car please let us know your rego details at the time of ordering. Thanks again so so so much for your ongoing support and friendship.

01.01.2022 Hello dear friends, well Easter is nearly upon us. It won’t be the same as we won’t be able to spend it with family or friends, we can’t do the annual Easter migration to the coast..we can’t even go shopping to buy Easter stuff. On a plus, hopefully you are all ok, don’t have the dreaded COVID-19, and are taking the time at home to do stuff you’ve been meaning to do for ages...we’ve been getting back to basics like our parents, grandparents etc...We’ve planted a veggie garden..., building a little greenhouse for the winter veg, making our own bread (without a breadmaker!), pickling veggies, and making our own hot cross buns!! And today I’m teaching my niece how to crochet!! Yep that’s what it’s come to! on another plus, the planet is being less congested with pollution and carbon emissions, towns like Delhi, one of the most polluted towns in the world is seeing blue skies again and the air is breathable! Doesn’t take long does it? This devastating COVID-19 has really been, and continues to be terrible, there’s no getting away from that. The thing is we have to not be all doom and gloom and look at the good things where we can. The skies are blue, the birds are singing where they haven’t for so long in some countries around the world, and hopefully you are all safe and healthy. Hate to sound all positive and preachy but we are a community and while it’s all good to be a good person in good times, it’s times like these that show the true character of a person. We have seen so many acts of kindness these last months, through some really tough situations and it’s heart warming to see our community support each other (toilet paper debacle aside ). We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support of Mee Sing. We seriously are blown away by your kindness, loyalty and friendship. We hope you all have a safe Easter. Make sure you all do something a little Easter like... we can make up for it when we can all get out again!! Happy Easter... the Mee Sing Family See more
