25.01.2022 The arcing and sparking that occurs inside of a magneto between the rotor and the cap terminals generates a huge amount of ozone gas. Ozone is very corrosive an...d causes things to rust and fuzz-up very quickly. Also, as the temperature of the magneto and the surrounding air changes, a sealed mag will end up with condensation and moisture inside. The vent holes in the newer MSD Pro Mag caps in the right hand picture are meant to allow ozone to escape and moisture to dissipate. The older design with no vents is on the left. Another way is to remove the cap at the end of the night to allow the magneto to breathe. See more

24.01.2022 Last night at Western Speedway in Hamilton , MRE was supported by David McKay and Sam Wren. In the A-main David started in 16th and Sam in 14th. David posted the 5th fastest lap for the race and came home in 9th using his trusty 372 and Sam finished in 11th. After 10 rounds Sam is currently 7th in points.

22.01.2022 The legendary Sammy Swindell won the 360 Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in A.G. Rains' car last weekend. The team had help from Driven Racing Oil using XP9 engine oil and SHX Shock Fluid.

20.01.2022 Super proud of this guys efforts over the weekends racing at Premier Speedway. Quentin Tanner ran at the pointy end for the whole three nights of racing , broke the 8 lap track record in a heat race and won the A-main off pole position. Team Tanner use a MRE engine , MRE carb , Driven Racing Oil and Monster Ignition magneto. Car still has more speed to come. :)

15.01.2022 Driven Racing Oil have unveiled their new engine oil GP-1 and show it in action on Shavers dyno. Over 5 HP increase in a 450 HP engine. Not too shabby for an oil change. It comes in 20w50, 15w40, 10w30, and 5w20. Will also be available in Nitro 70.

13.01.2022 Sam Wren won his first ever 410 heat race at Premier Speedway last night then raced from 6th in the B-main to 12th in the A-main which doubled as the Victorian Sprintcar Title and round 4 of the SRA series. Another little engine that could doing well amongst the bigger teams.

11.01.2022 Great weekend for MRE racers Sam Wren and David McKay running in the SRA Sprintcar Series. At Simpson Speedway Saturday night Sam won his heat and started 10th in the A-main and finished 6th. Premier Speedway Sunday night and David won his heat , started 8th in the B-main , transferred and came 14th in the A-main. Great pace from the pair at Premier with Sam setting the 12th quickest heat race lap for the night and David putting down a 10.7 second lap in qualifying with his ever trusty 372ci "Mighty Mouse"

10.01.2022 We recommend inspecting and adjusting your valves while cold as the adjustment from the first cylinder to the last will be the same. 410 Sprintcar engines being all aluminium can cool down quiet quickly depending on the days temperature.

08.01.2022 Big night for Meehan Race Engines at three race tracks in two states. Tim Van Ginneken won the SRA series Grand Final A-main at Simpson by 3/4 of a lap with a MRE 410 , Grant Stansfield ran 3rd in the Formula 500 Australian Title at Gunnadah with a MRE ported cylinder head after starting from 11th and Shaun Walsh won the Bill Campbell Memorial for Super Rods at Portland with Micheal Coad in 3rd with both cars using MRE carburettors.

05.01.2022 Pretty impressed with how quickly Leigh "Barry" Mugavin is picking up Sprintcar racing. In only his fourth race meeting last night at Mount Gambier he won a heat race and pulled a few wheel stands too. Even more impressive is that he is using a 372ci engine.

04.01.2022 2016 marks the 90th year that the Meehan family have been in the automotive industry. Our grandfather George started his apprenticeship in 1926 in Colac. He is pictured standing third from the right out the front of the garage and to the left hand side on the front row in the group photo. Our father Bob started his apprenticeship in 1960. Sons Tony and Gary started in 1985 and 1990.
