24.01.2022 Update on Pilchers Hill Descent - 1st Build Moved to this Sunday @ 11am Hi All, The 1st build day for the Pilchers Hill Descent will be this Sunday @ 11am. We had to move the day from Sat due to commitments but hope everyone has time to watch the Windham DH replay in the morning!!! At this stage the forecast is 14 and Sunny!... We'll be meeting @ the boom gate on Geilston Creek Rd and making our way in from there. Parking is very limited so be conscious you may need to park down the road a bit and walk up. Dave from Mtn Trails will initially be going over some basic building techniques and safety expectations with everyone. From here we will be getting started on clearing then digging the bottom section marked on the map. What you need to bring: - Suitable closed footwear / boots for an arvo of digging. - Gloves. - Eyewear. - Any building tools you may have - Shovel, pick, rake, bow saw (we will bringing some tools so don't worry if you don't have any). - Food and water for a few of hours. Really looking forward to getting started on Tasmania's first crowd sourced trail! Remember that all are welcome, so get your mates together and help make this MTB specific descent a ripper! Any questions, post up or give me a yell on 0408 659 998 Cheers, Matt

19.01.2022 Ok let's see what the group is keen to do in regards to getting the new caves hill trail groomed and opened... Given the location we really need to do day time volunteer sessions... Soo who is keen for a few hours this Sat the 5th or either of the following two Sat (12th or 19th)..?... It would be great to have it opened before Easter... Let me know here or pm me .... We will let every one know after some feed back... Thanks

15.01.2022 This is Important! Clarence City Council is doing public consultation on a public open space (POS) strategy and it’s a good time to get key parcels of land included in the mix. We have a few in the Meehan Range. We are encouraging all users to email comments to [email protected] requesting lots 770 Cambridge Rd and 429 Flagstaff Gully Rd be considered for purchase by Council to complete gaps in the POS in the Meehan Range and secure public access to Rocky Tom, Caves Hill... and tracks between Belbins Rd and Golden Hill. These are key parcels that help make this area all connect together. You know the drill - the louder the voice the more likely we are to be heard. Please help us out by sending an email. Thanks a million.

15.01.2022 How good does this look from our mates down the road at Tangara Recreational Trails Tasmania!!!

14.01.2022 Cheers to everyone who came out today for the first build session on the Pilchers Hills Descent / Tank Slapper. Really productive day proving many hands make light work! For a relatively flat section, we managed to take in lots of natural features, with even more potential to get gnar as we go on. The aim will be to have a day build fortnightly and then head out on the alternate week one night after work. Watch this space!

13.01.2022 Build Day this Sunday - Meeting at Belbins Boom Gate at 10:30 am. We will have tools - but if you have your own please bring them along. Relevant tools are - Fire Rakes, mattocks, Plastic Rakes, stiff broome's, shovels, tree trimming hand saws and cutters. The aim is to groom as much of the trail network as we can - along with the installation of some new signage. We will look to break into groups and head off in different Directions and aim to meet back at the car park at ...2pm ish... Obviously people can show up later and/or leave earlier. The more we get the more we get done. Any questions - Post here or PM me or 0409852777. Cheers

06.01.2022 Excellent news tonight - Dirt Art will be opening the upgrades to the Clarence Mtb park descent and realigned downhill ready to ride Saturday morning - these upgrades will be in the Meehan Monster .... Did I mention it now gives a single track descent all the way from the skyline to the timber crossover at the bottom near the container .... Epic!!! What are you waiting for .... Get out there and give it a roll.... Thanks to Clarence Council for being Awesome, Dirt Art crew for sweat trails and the volunteers that help in the range on the trails and in the back ground week in and week out.... I also here a whisper we will be getting some permanent toilets very soon.... We are soo lucky to have such a great place to enjoy.....!

05.01.2022 Here is a great suggestion "Look after the trails and your bike, leave it a day or three before riding. Trails need some recovery time at the moment to let the moisture soak in and for the sun to bake them hard"... We don't plan on closing any ATM but giving them some time will benefit a long summer of riding .... Another suggestion if you need the bike time - hit up Tangara trails..... 80 klms of trails to explore.... Thanks
