13.01.2022 You may have noticed that the Meeniyan Art Gallery has once again made the decision to close the Gallery - returning to stage three lockdown has forced our hand. It was great to be open again if only for a short time! We will endeavour to reopen as soon as restrictions are lifted and continue to provide a Covidsafe environment to the best of our ability. We will be keeping our volunteers and supporters informed by providing timely newsletters and updates, and our planned reo...pening date will be determined by government and South Gippsland Shire Council direction. We would very much like to present our planned October exhibitions and urge you all to look after yourselves and stay at home as much as possible. Let's hope October sees us again providing a cultural experience for our little country town of Meeniyan! Good luck and good health to you all. Regards, MAG Committee of Management. 11.01.2022 With the reopening of most of the other businesses in Meeniyan, the committee has decided to reopen the Gallery Shop earlier than planned, with the following modified days/times: School Holidays - Saturday 27th June to Sunday 12th July - 7 days per week - 10am to 4pm Friday 17th July to Tuesday 1st September - Friday to Sunday - 10am to 4pm... From Wednesday 2nd September - resumption of normal opening times and exhibitions *Please note that these times are subject to Volunteer availability, and while every effort will be made to cover, there may be some times where it will be necessary to close the gallery. Detailed planning has been undertaken to ensure the gallery adheres to the Victorian Government guidelines, and a COVID-19 Prevention Plan has been developed to protect the health and safety of all volunteers and visitors. - numbers in the gallery will be restricted to no more than 10 visitors at any time to enable physical distancing to be maintained at all times - hand sanitiser and contact register will be set up at entry - all cleaning and sanitising regimes have been increased We look forward to welcoming you back into the Gallery Shop to enjoy the work on offer by our many talented local artists. Who knows what they have been creating for us during lockdown! The shop offers a diverse range of arts and crafts and is definitely well worth a visit during your time in Meeniyan.
