21.01.2022 Near the end of March I gave a short talk on planting garlic for Diggers. I was supposed to be giving some talks about garlic and tomatoes on their stand as par...t of the Melbourne International Flower and Gardens show. When the show was cancelled, Diggers collected all their plants together and set up their display on one of their properties. Some of that display is in the background. With all the chaos of Covid 19, it took a while for the short video to be produced. But here it is. I've just planted my garlic. In the cooler states you still have a couple of weeks to get your garlic in. And really as long as you don't want perfect large garlic you can still plant in all the Australian garlic growing regions. Anyway here's the short talk. cheers Penny See more

04.01.2022 Gardeners traditionally have till the winter solstice on June 21 to plant garlic. . The unusually warm and wet conditions this season have proven themselves to be ideal for growing garlic in raised beds and containers. If you've never grown garlic before, this is certainly the year to try. It's an easy crop to grow but it takes a few months to grow, so make sure you plant in an area in the garden, where it can be left until Christmas before harvesting, then cooking and eating.... #garlicfestival #gardeningaustralia #visitvictoria
