15.01.2022 Creative, engaging craft activities for kids don't have to be complicated! Check out the adorable Easter craft project the kids at our Cockburn centre created recently. By simply painting their hands and feed, then stamping them onto coloured paper, the children loved making these adorable Easter-themed artworks.

15.01.2022 Most of us have heard that meditation and mindfulness if good for us - but how much do you REALLY know about the power of meditation when it comes to children? Well... Did you know that mindfulness is a superpower?! Yep, according to research, when kids practice mindfulness, they have the power to become happier! In fact, scientists have found that when children engage in mindfulness, they have better attention and focus, improved emotional regulation and overall show a significant boost in their wellbeing. It's truly amazing what a little mindfulness can do for little ones. 13.01.2022 Last week we said farewell to some of our most memorable students yet! Studying from our Ballajura and Hilton locations, these groups proved themselves to be flexible, determined and enthusiastic learners through a challenging period. Our first groups studying through a blended physical and virtual classroom model, these students quickly adapted to the new normal of our COVID-19 impacted existence. We wish our students every success as they complete the remaining hours of t...heir practical placement and set out to find employment in their new professions. Thank you all for your good humour, incredible efforts and for choosing to partner with us on your journey to becoming highly skilled Early Educators. 12.01.2022 On Wednesday, our students at our Woodvale centre listened to a story about space with our Early Learning Program children for National Simultaneous Storytime 2021! As part of the annual National Simultaneous Storytime event, we joined over 1 million kids across Australia and New Zealand while astronauts in space read us the book 'Give Me Some Space' via video link! The book is about a girl called Una who wants to be an astronaut, so she makes her own space suit,and builds a rocket so that she can travel into space. The kids were so excited to join in the fun - check out those happy faces! Sharing books together is such a wonderful way to instill a love of reading from an early age.

01.01.2022 Yesterday our wonderful graduating students met with our brand-new (and very excited) students at Meerilinga Training College in Ballajura for a special orientation morning and morning tea! We have nine new Cert III students who commenced on Monday, and who are already proving to be a sharing and caring group of future Educators. In addition, five of our graduated CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care students are returning (after only three days off!...), to continue on with their studies by embarking on the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The students shared stories about their studies in early childhood education and care and bonded over fruit, macarons and cups of tea. There were lots of smiles going on behind those masks!! Here at Meerilinga Training College, we love bringing together like-minded people who share a love for working with children - as well as learning the skills for a fulfilling career in early education, our students also forge some pretty special friendships.
