25.01.2022 Its lockdown time again! But we will be open for takeaway with our usual fare (schnitzel burgers, pies, croissants and the rest) and some nice fresh sponges, muffins and Fudgy cookies. So come and say hi ( 1.5 mts apart of course). Wed love to see you. Take care and stay safe

25.01.2022 Got a new flavour for our giant cookies! Chocolate and peanut butter chips! We tasted while still a bit warm , heaven Now we have four varieties. Funfetti, choc chip / walnut, red velvet/ white choc and these choc/peanut butter. Also knocked out a couple of loaves of walnut and banana bread. We tested that too with a bit of butter

25.01.2022 Good morning I have just been leisurely sipping three cups of hot tea and reading The Age, a both luxuries I don’t often have time to enjoy ! Anyway, in the magazine today there is an article from Wayne Schwass about PukaUp which is an organisation he founded following years of depression and suicidal tendencies. There is a lot of good stuff there which could help lots of us , especially in these difficult times. There are Podcasts from professionals to listen to and advice... on keeping mentally well. I urge you to take a look. I’m thinking we might like to collaborate with them as well as Lifeline. So I was going to open today but have decided to put together the second half of the outdoor furniture instead cos the car park has been partitioned and from Monday we can get out there! Hopefully we will have Khiel, Leanne and Lovely (that’s her name and she is) and yours truly so things will go much smoother. 25.01.2022 Good morning I have a beautiful and kind niece who lives in Europe. Her name is Christy and she keeps an eye on all things Meet Me In The Middle. A couple of weeks ago Christy forwarded $100 to me to bake up food to give to the customers. I thought a lot about this and decided to pop in $200 myself to start cooking meals for disadvantaged people. As you know, we are all about mental health and suicide prevention and we know there are some who are suffering at the moment more... than usual through isolation and uncertainty. We want to help directly. The way I see it working is that if you know anyone who needs help you can message me 0408542880 or call 97235825 with details and well arrange a meal. I will only be able to do a limited number at a time (Being by myself) so Ill advise when and how many are available. To finance this further we seek support in any form possible . The meals can also be purchased by paying customers and ALL money will be fed back into the program. We also would like to offer a 6 pack of muffins for $30 and 6 pack of giant, Fudgy cookies $30 and $5 from each will help fund the program also. Today we have FOUR meals; a delicious pasta bake( full of veggies and meat) , a mini muffin, a muesli bar and a tub of peaches. Midnight tonight sees work place restrictions which is going to be so terrible for some people and certainly will affect many. We have become increasingly quiet since the introduction of compulsory masks. I am determined we will keep going though, and Im trying different things to facilitate this. Id like to trial advertising products two days ahead for ordering and bake accordingly. So to kick off; Next Mond...ay Aug 10 I plan to offer passionfruit sponge ($30 serves 8), blueberry muffins ($5 each or 6 for $25), Fudgy cookies in funfetti and milk choc walnut. Orders can be sent via messenger or sms (0408542880) or ph 97235825 and payment made for contactless collection. Orders should be in by Friday 6pm . I hope this works Take care See more

20.01.2022 Never in our lifetime would we have imagined we would find ourselves in the midst of a pandemic that is tragically costing lives, making others acutely sick and generally turning our way of life upside down. The impact on us all is significant. For those who are vulnerable, the toll on mental health can be overbearing. We cannot now gather in a friendly place just for a little comfort, we cannot visit friends or family. It can be very isolating. There are some terrific peop...le on FB reaching out to support people and if you are affected please reach out. I miss being able to have some of my regulars in here to chat to and check up on, maybe a coffee or snack that has been paid forward by a generous person or just given as a special treat. After all that is my main reason for being here. It is difficult for small business at the moment but Im hoping that by sticking to the fundamentals of our purpose well get through. There are so many regular customers, and those whove been in before and have popped in again, who are continuing to support us, I am humbled and eternally grateful. Ceasing operation is not an option, I have started this little social enterprise in my beautiful sons memory to try to help others who suffer as he did. So onwards and upwards!! If anyone needs anything at all to make this time easier, or know of someone we can help, let us know. Today we made a donation to Lifeline for the sum of $1000.00 which we were able to do thanks to your faith and generosity. Thank you so much. 20.01.2022 Hello! Weve been pretty busy this weekend trying to stock up so we can successfully weather the current lockdown. Its got pretty quiet On the upside I guess that means people are staying home! Anyway, weve made Lamb Rosemary and Apple Sausage Rolls, Chicken Eggplant and Mushroom Pies, and Sweet Potato Chicken and Lime Pickle Pies! They are so different but equally delicious Also made a batch of tomato relish and another of mandarin marmalade . And weve got Funfetti and Dark Chocolate Giant Fudgy Cookies. And muffins. Tomorrow we are serving: BLAT croissant (limited stock this time due to public holiday), Devonshire tea, blueberry and white chocolate muffins, Lemon Drizzle cake, Strawberry Shortcake (with a difference) and cookies of course Freshly made sandwiches, focaccias , schnitzel roll/sandwich, bacon and egg sandwich , pies etc, quiche are all there too. ... 08.01.2022 So excited!!! Were open for seated service this Monday It will be absolutely wonderful seeing our people and feeling the buzz. So in preparation weve got some new products that are especially good. Still got our good old muffins and the new giant cookies but now have fresh out of the oven almond croissants, choc almond croissants, peanut butter fudge, gingerbread men , speckled spiral chocolates! Our lovely carrot cake has had a makeover. Same delicious cake but a smoother, creamier cream cheese whites chocolate frosting. Stay well and see you soon

I’m going to soak up the sun sitting with Bill and dad and be at peace with the world But I’ll also be working at my desk planning for when we can operate close to normal. Were very happy with our new look and would love to thank Luke Mc Evoy for the graffiti . My friend Paul has been my very able painter and Im thrilled with the result. 02.01.2022 So exciting! This Saturday Nov 28th we have Jose Garcia visiting to play some music. This will be his third visit to us and if you’ve seen him perform before you’ll know how beautifully talented he is . He is also a genuinely warm and generous man who cares and loves what he does Things will kick off at 11am and go for around and hour. This is a free event for everyone. Please consider popping in to hear this talent. Things are going along ok at the moment and as usual I’m ...excited for the future. Khiel and I did the lockdown by ourselves but now we can have seated service we have Leanne back and we’re joined by the lovely Alana in the kitchen. It’s a happy little place We’ve developed a new menu which is proving to be popular and doing the usual cakes and some new ones. And we’re developing a website! We’ll let you know when that’s ready . I’ll do a couple of plugs for some businesses we use now. I can’t recommend highly enough Mooroolbark fruit and veg shop in Brice ave near Coles. The quality and freshness is outstanding. They are a small business who go out of their way to excel. We’re also dealing with Section Technology in our group of shops who are building our website . They also have a competition to support disadvantaged families over Christmas . Details are in our cafe or at their office. And we’ve been given a lot of support from Geyer accountants that saves me a huge headache! Now we have wonderful Dan sorting out the aesthetics of the joint. We’ll post some pics of our new breakfast and lunch items (when I remember to take them). It’s delicious fresh food that we’re happy to serve. Hope to see you soon
